Well thanks for your replies fellas, in particular SWW with your tip mentioned in your last paragraph. Out of curiosity, what was the name of the product you used mate??

I have tried 'Meguires Quik Clay' with little affect...but maybe I need to be a little more persistent with it and it may work.

I have a close friend who works in the workshop at a VW dealership, after I showed him the state of the trim this weekend, he said they would have changed it without question as it looked so bad. TYPICAL :notme:

I will live with it for another year or so then may price-up some replacements and my pal from VW said he would help me fit them..... or rather me watch him do it then treat him to more than a few beers!!

I would still like to hear some more of your experiences and also maybe some tips on improving this crappy milky look!!

Thanks Guys

Same problem for me, but it was just the rear window surrounds (fixed side windows) on the kombi that were affected.  Took to Lookers Stockport and they were replaced under warranty without issue.  They had the car 2 days (booked in for 1 day) as they were expecting just the chrome trim to arrive, but when the part arrived, it's a complete section, chrome trim and glass that needs to be bonded!!

Can't complain at all as wasn't out of pocket and courtesy car provided.

Have to say that the replacement is holding out much better, maybe a change of supplier or production method?
