  1. Me too, a DIY kind of guy, but I couldn't legislate for the total idiot that did my last MOT and put down as an advisory 'Nearside Front Tyre has a cut but not deep enough to reach the ply or cords', when he hadn't realised what a winter tyre was with sipes in the tread, you couldn't make it up.
  2. @brettikivi are you going for the Lazer 18 Elite with I-LBA, or just the 'standard' model. Whatever option you go for, any chance you could obtain wiring instructions/photos from whoever fits it...please?
  3. Goodness me, you have had some really bad luck with bolts etc on this car. Although it would take twice as long (!) I would finish one job and move onto the next when completed, for fear of not nipping up that crucial bolt. Do you mark the bolts once tightened? Anyway you are moving forward and if you ever have to get under the car again, at least you know it won’t be such a struggle. Look forward to your ‘adventures’ with the suspension.
  4. Don't butcher the clips, if the Knipex don't do the job, take a dremel and cut a slot or grind the top off. As an aside, can't believe how much rust there is under the car, makes me want to check mine in a bit more depth 🙈
  5. HI, that appears to be a MK2 face-lift, so maybe ask in that forum as people should have more knowledge. Having said that I ran a Elegance in that specification upto 100K miles and the only issue I had was the front window failing as the wires in the door post became trapped and broken, a common issue. It was serviced regularly, tyres and brakes taken care off when necessary, so I did try and look after it :-)
  6. Hi @szking, As your car is a Sportline, those triangular lights (under the headlight) are not lights, just fillers. On some of the Superbs with a lesser spec' these are used as side-lights. Have a look with a torch and see if there's a bulb there, I don't think there is, certianly there isn't on my car. The fog lights will come on individually when turning left or right and both come on when you reverse.
  7. iIs it not possible to have these pipes remade, or do you need a pattern to work to? Webasto sell the heater to fit the Superb, it is just the heater and no ancillaries they market?
  8. I wouldn’t worry about them being for sale for that length of time. They are expensive cars to start with, (don’t forget the increased VED for the first few years), there is new model coming out in the UK autumn of this year and people have other concerns with the cost of living, so i think there are fewer people with that kind of disposable income. You are purchasing from a dealer, with a warranty so I wouldn’t be too concerned. I bought mine, sight unseen in lockdown from a dealer and had no issues. They are great cars and mine is a keeper, until i can get a Mk4 at a decent price.
  9. Just a thought, but wouldn't putting your new all seasons on the front be a better option for steering control and traction on a front wheel drive car, rather than a set of part worn summer tyres? You can always change back when the cold weather has gone, just remember the 'Beast from the East' didn't start until 22nd Feb 2018, so a few days to go until we reach that miletone !
  10. I have to ask @ApertureS, all these fantasctic projects on your car, is this a full time job for your or a hobby, do you have an engineering background? The level of complexity involved is mind-blowing, who knew what a HSD connector was! ..and finally, where are you sourcing all the information for these retrofits? Anyway hats off to you.👌
  11. No questions in particular, just interested as I have always thought it would be an excellent addition to my car. Are you going to prepare a ‘How to” guide? Only issue is the cost!
  12. Waiting for the Webasto Parking Heater chapter, if you can sort this before the end of January it would be appreciated 😀
  13. Too lazy to clean with contact cleaner, that’s the easy fix that you asked for in your post. Otherwise take to the dealer and let them sort it out or replace with a new item.
