best way to clean brake calipers?

Featured Replies

hi

i received 312mm brake setup today, they are a bit dirty with oil etc

ive attacked them with a wire brush and brake cleaner and they are in much better shape then how i received them

but is there any other ways i can get them gleaming? apart from painting over the oily bits? or is that what you do?

any other degreaser i can use?

i have some hammerite green that i will use to touch up

tips and tricks much appreciated :)

thanks all

ok think i sussed it

APC and wire brush = Win

:)

wire brush...........omg wd40 and hard word works fine

a coat of srp lasts 3 months

Jizer is a good degreaser, I was lucky, my 312 calipers

were reconditioned and looked brand new so I only had

to lightly degrease and then paint them.

Thanks :)

fairy liquid eats grease and is friendly to your calipers. It will also give you fairy soft hands, and mums love it
