  • If you're in the right you have the footage. If you're in the wrong, it wasn't on. That's two ways isn't it?

  • I had his number ect and i phoned him, then he txt me that first message and it went from there I have since seen this little **** standing round right in the middle of town where i live. Jumped out

  • Funny as ****. The lad who crashed into me went through his insurance for the case of a new headlight and a new bumper and they've written it off. What a fukin retard. Can't imagine what insurance wou

i myself was quite fortunate when i had a similar situation when i was rear ended in my previous car. not sure the young lad was insured really, he insisted he didnt want to go through insurance as his premium would go through the roof, he insisted he would pay and just to get a quote. went to a local body shop there and then for a quick estimate and then went to my local vw dealers own bodyshop who oddly were far cheaper. was quoted just over a grand, gave him a call fair play he paid the bodyshop in full first thing the next morning. car went in and done within a week of the incident, all sorted and never heard a peep from him again.

**** luck that its not plain sailing for you, just try to take some satisfaction in the knoweldge that his insurance will criple him far more than yours, fingers crossed he wont be able to afford cover for some time :giggle:

sorry to hear that mate buuut dont show the cops thos pics, those tyres are balder than a porn stars p****y!!

Go to your insurers. The sad fact appears to be that you can't trust anyone.

I've had two non-fault crashes in recent years where the other party has tried to scr*w me over, even going through the insurers when they have clearly admitted liability.

The first crash someone piled into the back of my car at about 50mph as I was stationary at the end of a queue of stationary traffic on the M25 and pushed me into the car in front. My insurers received a counter claim from the woman who ran into the back of my car and it was only after investigators were appointed and months of wrangling that it was confirmed as not my fault.

On the second crash, some halfwit in a 306 pulled out to overtake a lorry on an A road without looking while I was coming the other way and hit my A4 head on. The first thing I did was to get out of my car (climbed out through the passenger window - it was quite a good job) and get a witness and details of the other car. The Police attended that one and filed a report (sadly didn't charge the other bloke). Despite all this, my insurers got a counter claim from the other party (I don't think I ever really understood how they were accusing me of causing it). It was easier to fight with witnesses and a police report, but the other bloke still tried it on.

Sorry to hear about your vRS, anyway and best of luck getting it all sorted.

Its probably (well it is) a poor attitude but i would have broken his legs by now. Some little **** crashing into me is fair enough, everyone makes mistakes etc... But then reading tho's messages... I'd do some horrible things until the money was paid

Obviously not condoning random acts of violence but agreed; the texts would be enough for me too! It's amazing how an attitude can change following a wee night-time surprise visit! :bandit:

I'd love to see evidence of one of those type of devices winning an insurance claim in someone's favour. I'd suspect 99% of insurers won't be interested, and just want the quickest possible settlement all round. Just look at the case above of being reversed into in a car park going 50/50, when a car cannot possibly go sideways. Watching a video and looking at GPS logs takes up their time.

Win`s plenty of claims for us at work, and they are far far worse quality than the kit that was involved in the recent group buy.

If the OP wants to punch the little **** for the texts that's fine. Anything else or more and especially repeat visits gets him into far more serious trouble. A head-on accident in a lane.... Hate to say it but it's going to be 50/50 unless there are independent witnesses. I.e. not travelling in either car.

In narrow lanes these days I've taken to sounding the horn regularly if I can't see (it's what it's there for). Doesn't help that the lanes I'm thinking of aren't exactly flat or straight but wind down the sides of hills with 6 ft banks and hedges either side.

You're probably required by the small print in your policy to notify the insurance company even if you don't make a claim. If he claims and you haven't notified them then they may be naughty about your cover.

Best of luck with getting sorted. You've been unlucky to meet such a twerp - when a 17 year old ran into the rear of my car in pouring rain we swopped telephone numbers and I spoke to his parents who sorted out the car and I banged mine straight. We all get it a bit wrong at 17 and the insurance excess costs would have been enormous for him.

I'd suggest not answering any more texts or sending any because you can't actually prove who is sending them (only from which phone they were sent) and he'll deny that it was him if push comes to shove.

sorry to hear that mate buuut dont show the cops thos pics, those tyres are balder than a porn stars p****y!!

They look like racing slicks :whew:

Fookinell!!! Id havelost my rag after reading those texts ! Wat a c@:t ! I ran in to the back of someone whilst i was 17 thinking i was lewis hamilton ! I also begged the lady i ran in to to settle outside of insurance which she said yes to but i held up my half of the deal too i covered her bumper and light as soon as i got paid !! That guy sounds a ****** !

1. Hospital appointment - Get checked out.

2. Police - Give a full statement including all details you have for the other party. Include the pictures showing damage to his car etc.

3. Insurance Company.

I hope all the mods etc were declared on your policy.

Sorry people, i haven't been on here for a few days

I cant really quote and personally answer everybody as id be here all day

I know people, getting hit is annoying, not getting paid is even more annoying, but then having some cheeky little kid tell me to F off and be that ****y and immature, good god, my blood is constantly boiling to be honest

I'm going to repair the car and keep every single receipt and invoice and then when its all done, try and take him to court or something

Also reading peoples replies, i might try and ring the police and get him done for driving without due care and attention. He's admitted over and over in our txt conversation that he was going 20mph round the bend which in anybody's opinion, is far too quick for the corner and those road conditions and is without a doubt, 'driving without due care and attention'

Does anybody know the best place to go for body parts

All together from what i know of, i need;

off side wing

off side headlight

bonnet

bumper

bonnet

big plastic bit on front of the car where bumper bolts onto

....

I think you need to add 2 New Front Tyres to your list also.

DB.

this isnt a topic for digging people, one one the tyres is brand new, and the other has just hit the limit but however is bald on the inside due to tracking out

What a pain in the backside - but firstly get a report to the police, as legally you should report ANY accident.

I'd also be wary of those pictures - the legal requirement fot tyre tread depth is 1.6mm minimum across the central 75% of the tyre - i can't see the pics very well on this screen but they do look debatable.

By all means price up parts but also get a bodyshop to quote - it can't hurt to know where a typical quote will place your claim against the insured value. On the subject of insurance I hope you have declared EVERY modification to them - they will find any excuse to wiggle out of paying anything and if an inspector looks at the vehicle he will note the fact its modified.

Good luck

I'm part way through repairing my own VRS which is way more damaged than yours, It's away at the moment having the chassis strairgtened.

Parts wise, I bought the front panel, bumper reinforcer and both headlights all for £60, front wing £20, bonnet £45 and bumper £100. All the parts were secondhand except the bumper which was an ebay bargain, so this could be really inexpensive to repair yourself, about £225 for parts, just add some of your own time to fit them and some paint!

He may be facing a ban as a young new driver having an accident within the 1st few months - the lad opposite us crashed his company van and now walks everywhere. May be worth checking if this is fact or the lad opposite was just unlucky.

In regard to the lad who crashed the van and walks every where! He could have been done for anything, especially if you don't know the facts.

Drink Driving

Dangerous Driving

Undue care and attention, the list could go on.

Or the company might of told him to stick it and he hasn't enough money for a car himself!

Thats quite good to know to be honest, although i dont think ill be able to get the parts that cheap. Found a wing for 65 quid in red so can just bolt that straight on and work from there. Is it neccesery to replace the big plastic bit on the front? Like a sort of plastic crash bar? The two holes that the bumper bolts to are still there...

A wing in the right colour is a good start.

When you say the big plastic bit on the front, I assume you mean the panel that the radiator etc bolts to? These are cheap secondhand anyway, just bolt on, not sure if the headlight mounts to it as well though? I'd do it anyway, there are only 2 options as far as I can see, cars with aircon (big rad) and those without (small rad).

Looks like you have damage to the inner wing as well though!

New wing on, took about two hours of constant bashing at the inner wing with a big hammer

Bumper structurally ok so mocked it up, looks terrible with a hole in but will do for driving around for now

Got new headlight on now too but no pic

Went to the petrol station that day, got some fuel, topped up my tyre pressures then half an hour later, this happened
