  • If you're in the right you have the footage. If you're in the wrong, it wasn't on. That's two ways isn't it?

  • I had his number ect and i phoned him, then he txt me that first message and it went from there I have since seen this little **** standing round right in the middle of town where i live. Jumped out

  • Funny as ****. The lad who crashed into me went through his insurance for the case of a new headlight and a new bumper and they've written it off. What a fukin retard. Can't imagine what insurance wou

On a different note, wow that's a lot of inter cooler pipe work, I'm impressed that the turbo can actually shift enough air to build up over a bar of pressure in that lot lol.

Similar layout to my Forge FMIC, and indeed to the standard SEAT FMIC on my old PD150 Leon. Both setups have pressurised no problems ;)

Alright there people,

Yesterday was a bit of a weird day. I phoned the lad after i got a copuple of prices for a wing and bonnet ect to see how he is going to cover the costs, he seemed alright and was impressed at the price of the wing, also told me that he had told his parents about it and that he was going too quick, the telephone conversation ended, then i got a text a few hours later i got a slightly bad worded txt reading 'My mum says go through insurance i have no one is going to admit to it and i have two witnesses that new i was going 15 to 20 miles an hour and you were doing more than 10 so no money go through insurance bye to which i replied a very long but very mature txt (because i have a feeling at some point this conversation will be needed to show to maybe court or what have ya) to which he replied '**** off u getting no money bye' He then went on to accuse me of having no insurance which i was fumin at as im 24 and drive for a living!! The guy is not only refusing to give me any money what so ever but he couldnt be more ****y about it if he tried. Never spoken to anybody so immature. He will pay for this whether its in two weeks or two years. Hes not getting away with it, hew admitted all fault both on the day and more or less throught the text message. I will take him to caught if i have to. Not only is he refusing to pay out atall, but hes being a right ****ey **** about it. Im not going through the insurance and im almost positive that they will clock up the damage to more than the car is worth and write it off which i am not having. Text conversation below..... Let me know what you think

Inform your Insurance company, if they do write the car off, I hope they don't, you can buy it back off them after you have been paid out

Did he have insurance??

Have you got his reg number?

Do a search on here to see if he's insured:

I think you are going to need to contact your insurance for some help on this one.

I hope you get this sorted!

What a child!

Hate to tell you this but i'd probly go through insurance as well...

bit of a story...

few year ago my mum was driving through a call park and stopped at a pedestrian crossing going across the car park. while she stopped to let people from the shop cross an old man reversed out of a bay and inside the side of the car, damaging both n/s doors. He got out the car and couldnt apologize enough... admited 100% fault and said he accepted everything etc...

few days later get the phone car from the insurance company saying my mum had crashed into him and he's put a claim in against her! he denied everything and it ended up 50/50. Crazy considering i was in the car with her, we had pictures, whitness's and most of all were stationary at the time! yet the insurance would belive my mums parked car can move left 2 meters (sideways at the damage is to the doors remember...) and into his "parked car"

-------------------

Now if i was you, i would really go through insurance just to cover your own back and have some sort of legal edge. as said you can always buy your car back off the insurance company anyway so it aint all bad. keep a good log of the events as well, weather, visability, was anybody behind you etc.. Hope it gets sorted soon.

Even if he is doing it this way - speak to the police about it - even 20 miles per hour can be too much for the conditions. This is classed as "driving without due care and attention" and he'll loose his licence over it as it carries 6 points! See how he feels about that!

what a little **** like, typical 17 year old tho. in the wrong but wont admit it, ad be going round to his house and gettin the money from him not matter what it took

good luck

........and while talking to the Police you now have a very stiff neck which you believe was caused in the collision, whiplash and shock can take a few days to materialise, Screw the little ****

I think I'd always go through insurance, to be honest. Too much scope for being messed around otherwise, I have a similar story to hutchy's. I was sat in three lanes of traffic on the A50, and someone ran into the rear passenger corner of my Golf. We pulled over to the central reservation as it was the easiest place to stop, exchanged details etc, and the guy explained the circumstances (he was a freelance courier so his van was his income stream) and admitted the blame. Meanwhile the traffic had started moving so I didn't feel the need to get back out into the middle of a 3 lane road to take pictures of where the glass fell (plus it had been scattered) and any tyre marks. My insurance expired the day after and had been moved to another company, so the only place I could get a quick quote (so I knew whether to claim or whether he was happy to meet the cost) was VW's own body shop. I sent it to him, apologised for the expense but said "look, this is what needs doing, if you want to get your own body shop to quote for exactly the same repair then that's fine with me, I'm really not fussed".

Next thing, there's a letter from my insurers saying that his story is I changed lanes in front of him, and he was claiming for the damage to his car plus 3 days loss of earnings while it was repaired. No witnesses stopped, I didn't have any evidence, so 50/50 it went. The annoying thing was I looked up his address and he clearly wasn't short a bob or two, he could have paid the damage easily, but was just being arsey about it. So unless it's clear circumstances (no real damage or a mate that hit me) I think I'd probably just chuck it through insurers every time. It might affect my premium over a few years, but not claiming could leave you hugely out of pocket right now when they don't pay up...

Sounds as though he has no insurance, report it to the Police PDQ.

DB.

I'd report to your insurance ASAP and inform them you want to make a claim against the other person but he hasn't given you any insurance information for his details.

Report to police and also get him done for dangerous driving!

Kid sounds like a right prize one bell

I don't get why everyone's saying this? If he had no insurance surely he'd be begging to pay the damage rather than forcing the OP to go through his insurance and admitting he was driving (with two witnesses) - basically asking for a massive fine and disqualification from driving due to not having insurance?

Unless mommy and daddy prefer to stitch him up rather than pay out repair costs. But they're liable too if it's their car and they gave him permission to drive it without insurance?

It's important to report to the Police the exact facts before the other party does so (assuming he's insured) because he could report the accident and totally distort the true facts, thus making the victim look the offending party.

That's p***ed me off reading them texts. How immature and one chav really be. God help the person who hits my car.

I don't think it would matter when you tell the Police your side of the story, if they're two different accounts the Police shouldn't bias towards one (without evidence) regardless of which came in first. Unless he's not insured it's not a Police matter, so I'd talk to insurance first and give them his reg and let them come back with whether or not he has insurance before you go to the Police.

I'd definitely say he's 100% insured. The text seems to say (from what I can figure out of the wonderful English) that he's already informed his insurance, plus he's saying "I won't pay, you'll have to talk to your insurance" - considering he admits he was driving, and that the accident happened, doing this when you know you're not insured is just asking to be banned from driving, having a massive fine and likely being ordered to pay for all the damages anyway?

OP, get yourself to hospital and get yourself looked at. If any stiffness or injuries are identified that could have resulted from the impact and is subsequently proven to be his fault, it'll give weight to any compensation case you might wish to pursue.

I hate reading things like this. I know how seething I would be if it happened to me. I would hurt him.

Ouch dude.. Sorry to hear that

I know no one likes to here this but its best to contact the insurance he's 17 and will get raped when he try's to get insurance after the claim so in the long run you will win.

Could be insurance fronting and insured in mummy and daddy's name anyway. Quite popular it seems.

Unfortunately they'd be unwilling to act. One person's word against the other's. If they did, everyone would phone up telling them someone they don't like did x.

Whatever you do, get one of these fitted to prove your case should you find yourself in the same situation again.

Well worth £60 I'd say.

I'd love to see evidence of one of those type of devices winning an insurance claim in someone's favour. I'd suspect 99% of insurers won't be interested, and just want the quickest possible settlement all round. Just look at the case above of being reversed into in a car park going 50/50, when a car cannot possibly go sideways. Watching a video and looking at GPS logs takes up their time.

Sadly, I suspect you're probably right there. But it is nice to know you've done everything you can you help yourself out. It's also another rather cool gadget which was the attraction for me!

They could be useful if you hit a person though - to prove it wasn't your fault if a kid jumps out at you near school time or something. I'd like it then just for my conscience!

Hope you get it sorted though - it's people like him you give us young folk a bad name - we've not all like that, trust me!

I'm with you on that one. I'm 22 and get looks when people see me in the vrs. As if I'm some boy racer chav. I love my car too much to wrap it.
