Got to be honest - i don't see you getting beyond 50:50 if you went through ins and taking him to court will be fruitless i fear without independent witnesses.

And here lies the reason why we're all paying so much for our insurance. Congratulations on advocating a fraudulent injury claim!

+1 from me, my insurance is enough already thanks without fraudulent claims for whiplash!

Insurance would go 50/50, just put it down to experience, bad luck, get your car fixed and be thankful nobody was hurt, that's what I would do!

is that definitely the case?

Unfortunately some (but not all) insurers do load for non-fault claims.

Well here she is today

Inner wing been smashed a couple thousand times with a hammer to get it straight

New outer wing fitted

New headlight

Bonnet smashed with a hammer few times

Bumper put back on even tho it is a mess

And new sump fitted

Yes it looks like a smashed in banger car but I'm not bothered as it drives again and is legal

It a massive achievement even getting to this stage

That wing's too shiny dude! Either wash the car or chuck some **** at the wing. :)

lol

Been watching this since the first day, good luck with it hope you sort the red devil out soon and get sorted out with the youth.

*** Warning*** gonna go on a bit of a rant in this post because insurance, teenage drivers, stereotypes and whatever else is the one thing that really grinds my gears!!

Its people like that t*** that give people like me a bad name!

I hate it when people my age turn into stupid immature *****s like this, its a fact that inexperienced drivers are going to have knocks... I reversed out my drive and hit someone parked (illegally) on the opposite side of the road, I swapped details, told the guy to get a quote for the car repairs and he came with the bill, i agreed to pay the bill (with a little help from my parents which i will be paying them back for) and all is well with no grudges etc.

But theres a difference between inexperience and pure stupidity! its just a teenage ***** trying to show off, i dont do that with my friends because it doesnt give me any "street cred" all it would do is put me and my friends in danger as well as someone that may be hit...

Saying all this i still think the insurance is done wrong on teenage drivers in present days, my dad used to pay off his insurance on his first car with a weeks wages and his second car was a 3.0L V6!! we are all guilty until proven innocent which is why the insurance is so high but i think it should be the other way round.

i think this ***** should own up as he is obviously just an immature ***** that thinks he owns the world and can get away with anything, its a shame that you didnt video record or voice record everything while you were there, thats what i will do if anything happens.

apologies in advance for being so long winded, but its the one thing that i have an extremely strong opinion on. it may not be the same opinion as you but i believe that i know what i mean as i see myself as a good mature young driver, and its easy for me to see the clash between s*** teenage drivers and experienced drivers as i have contact and opinions from both!

anyways.. :L

Young drivers dont always have bumps and make mistakes. I been driving since 17 and due to being in the army I only did 6 hr driving if that, before my test. never had any incident until 2009 when some woman hit me in a car park when she should of stopped. used to drive like a loon at times too but only when there was a clear road. I never took any risks. and with people in the car even now I drive like a f****y lol

why would you pay for the damage to a car that was illegally parked? surely it shouldnt of been there so its not your problem?

back on topic glad the OP is getting things sorted. unlucky bout the sump mate. just wind the coilovers up a tad lol.

not a bad result so far.

billy

If you hit a stationary object, it's pretty-much always your fault for not being observant enough ;) (although that doesn't excuse the twit who parked in a daft place)

rgr lol

i always thought if a car is parked out of the parking lines and on yellows illegally then thats their fault and insurance wouldnt cover it. might be two diff things tho as if you hit something it is your fault but in eyes of ins they wouodnt pay as it shouldnt of been there. if that makes sence?

I actually think it looks rather cool all ruffed up :D

His "witnes" will both be useless if they are friends that were in the car with him, they have to be a separate party I though?

Good that you are mobile again, but your current course of action has let the little scumbag off the hook entirely. You are also potentially invalidating your insurance by not declaring the accident to the police (not having a go, just some advice that you might want to check out)

thats a fair point there, and specially now its on the forum?

they do need to know. and unfortunatly as sky ins say it will put a s light increase on to the premium, mine was soemthng like 50 notes plus 25 admin as I thought I sidnt need to say anything as the bump which cost nothing to sort was on a different policy.

live and learn.

all the best sorting it mate.

Sad to read this thread.

Worse still you tried to do the "decent" thing when you should have phoned the police and insurance company from the accident site.

When I had an accident in my car I refused to move until the police arrived. Plus I had the whole thing on a drive recorder.

No argument, no messing.

People need to remember the other person will go away, listen to what people tell them and then will do something completely different to what they said quite often. Phantom wintesses and claiming you were doing something different when they know you have no witness is nothing new.

Best witness I ever had is recording in HD from behind the rear view mirror... it's already saved me a fortune!

yea with that Datsun beast lol, was the truck thing want it?

thing is these cams work both ways, depends how you want to play it.

just seen the copies of the txts for the first time and OMG.

what a prat! really hope her gets banned at some point as he seems like the kind of chump that really shouldnt be on the roads.

mind that goes for prob 75% of all road users?

So glad there is a like button :)

yup me too lol

Yup.

Dont every 'notify' them unless you intend to claim, or have a third party you'll claim off. Simply noting it they'll add to your file and add onto the MID.

I have first hand experience of this.

Funny as ****. The lad who crashed into me went through his insurance for the case of a new headlight and a new bumper and they've written it off. What a fukin retard. Can't imagine what insurance would of said about my car as it was 10 times more damaged than his! Now I've got my fabia vrs back on the road because I do things the right way and hes on his own two legs walking. What a doughnut
