My VRS TFSI Broke Down Today... Need Some help

Featured Replies

As above.

Car started fine and and drove around a meters before dieing on me. The AA were called and when he arrived the car started, Baring in mind before he come i attepted to start several times and car would just crank.

Anyways he did dignostics and came back with P0606 and P062B.

he agreed to follow me home which he did and as i turn on to the road i live on the car kept dieing and restarting.

The AA guy thinks its either the low pressure fuel pump or crank sensor.

Anyways i did a VCDS scan and these are the codes i got:

01314 - Engine Control Module

004 - No Signal/Communication - Intermittent

00474 - Control Module for Immobilizer

004 - No Signal/Communication

005635 - Internal Control Module: Failed Self-Test

P1603 - 002 - Lower Limit Exceeded

Fuel Pressure Regulator Valve (N276): Open Circuit

P2294 - 004 - No Signal/Communication -

005634 - Power Supply Terminal 30: Voltage too Low

P1602 - 002 - Lower Limit Exceeded

So what are your thoughts on this? Any help would be much appriecated

Battery??

Yeah good chance apart from the engine still cranks? Did he test the battery and alternator with a multi meter? Check the earth?

Going to check ignition relay and try and find the fuel pump/terminal 30 relay

That P1602/005634 - Power Supply B+ Terminal 30: Voltage too Low keeps reappearing every time the car dies.

Possible Causes

Cables on the Battery were removed

Battery weak (voltage)

Generator Disfunction

Possible Solutions

Check Battery Cables

Check/Replace Battery

Check/Replace Generator

Special Notes

If multiple Control Module have Power Supply Faults stored, it's most likely to be one common Problem like the ones shown above. Otherwise when only one or two Control Modules have such Codes stored you better start searching at the individual Power Supply of these Modules.

Terminal 30 means unswitched battery power that is supplied even when the ignition is off. This is not referring to any physical terminal numbered 30.

Changed the battery around 6 months ago. The car seems to have enough power to crank and everything on the car works before. Is it likely to be the Generator?

I feel your pain. My Vrs is in the garage at the moment with a similar problem. Car would stall dead (a couple of times while I was driving it! :whew: )

The AA diagnosed it as a fuel pump issue (low pressure). My local dealer has had it since thursday. When I spoke to them yesterday they were trying to trace the fault through the fuel system. Hoping to hear some more news today.

If it does turn out to be the fuel pump I am steeling myself for a fairly pricey fix (was quoted £190 for a new OEM pump unit) :(

Garage job.

Guys please give me some help im baffeld as to what is causing problem.

Have you had the ECU out at all? What are your fault codes now?

  • Author

I had ecu out around 6 months ago. Not recently though

And same fault comes up when car dies or won't start.

Vcds engine- Power Supply Terminal 30 : Voltage too Low

Most other controllers through up a fault- 01314 - Engine Control Module    004 - No Signal/Communication - Intermittent

You see videos I posted aswell on mk5golfgti forum

Saw the vids. The only thing I can think of is check the plugs to the ECU is ok, this recent heavy rain may have entered the plug somewhere.

Tried your other key just in case the immobiliser isn't talking to it properly?
