Featured Replies

Can anyone please tell me if the MDI interface also charges the iPod's battery when in use? (as well as playing music from the iPod). Many thanks.

My original Post #1 is very grateful to the other 5 helpful Posts! :-)

I ordered my new car last week (UK) - hope I get it before Christmas...

In reply to post #6 what version is it?:D

I think that we all agree that this thread has reached an agreeable outcome and that all are agreed that we are in agreement.

LOL - OK, feel free to close the thread after I've answered stu_mcl's question:-

2012 New Fabia Elegance hatchback 1.2 TSI/105 DSG Auto, with these extras added on:-

Tyre Pressure Monitor

3-spoke Steering Wheel with Radio & Phone

MDI Interface

Storage Compartment under passenger seat

Amundsen SatNav

Bluetooth Pack (got the dealer to chuck this in for free)

Rear Parking Sensors

Curve Projection Headlights + Curve Fogs

The order went in on July 3rd so I got the Zero VAT deal too (now includes DSG's) plus Zero APR over 2 years.

Counting the months till it arrives :)

Just in case my earlier post at no 4 above wasn't clear

Yes, the MDI lead WILL charge the iPod :-)

Could be counting the months for a while as it has a dsg box, they seem to take forever......or atleast they did, not sure if its any better now

My chaps we are bored this afternoon.

Getting back to the OP, i can concur with all those other posts that the MDI will indeed charge your iPod and if desperate an iPhone, although obviously not simultaneously.

PS. nice spec, i hope the wait isn't too long for you.

Thanks guys - I appreciate all your help and advice.

at risk of getting a loads of " i agree with!!!"" answers like above

the USB cable for the MDI interface, can it run a small usb laptop powered hard disk (solid state disk so no vibration issues), as it has faster access and better capacity than a usb stick

also what is the largest usb device the radio will accept?

if you meen external hard-drive then i belive you can, think thees a few on here with around 32gb ones

Yes you can plenty of people use a 2.5" portable drive -I don't think you need to spend too much as I don't think the MDI is that fast -the main thing is to keep the file structures simple it will fit neatly in the hole under the glove box

I use a 32gb USB stick it's a Sandisk and cost about £15
