That's still a 30 mile each way (60 both ways) for us north of the Tyne though :(

Why does every one on the north east site talk about meets but hardle ever get around to meeting ?? I put a thread on here about York on the 21st sept it's a vw meet but there are all vag cars going only 2 people got back to me !!

It would of been a good place for a skoda turn out !!!

Cos its always been like that for some reason and as said in previous posts their not a group of enough people who want to meet on a regular basis due to their own commitments so meets are few and far between but when they happen they usually very good

But they don't happen if 1 person says can't make that day the meet should go ahead even if there is only 3 people turn up !

It's like the vw festival at York is no one going at all ? It would be a great spot for us to meet up !

I take it has an entry fee at the york meet?

We have had a few meets where only a few turn up you should organise a meet see what interest you get take things from there I am up for a mini meet but depends on .dates cos of my work commitments we should aim for a meet before dark nights and weather changes

So what would be best for folk . . . mid week or weekend , i am nights this week finish monday morning (10th sept)

Been thinking about local meets etc and there is a Retro Car meet at the McDonalds near toys-r-us metro centre on 12-09-2012 from 6:30pm onwards.

This meet started as purly retro rides but now its a mixed bag of everything from Retro 70's / 80's Cars to American Cars to Modified Cars.

sounds good to me, not sure if my fabia will be on the road or on axle stands with the alloys off ready for a refurb, but i will still come in my foci ST be good to start some meets off and maybe get things going regular.
