2nd Yetier

Featured Replies

Just curious ,How many others are now on their second Yeti ?

An interesting question! May I widen it a bit, bilun777?

I had been thinking along similar lines myself recently. The Yeti has been around long enough now for some forum members to be on their second. I have wondered how many of the 'old brigade' (if they'll forgive me please?) like Rockhopper, 9000... , TP , Llanigraham etc, who must have notched up some really serious miles now, will be updating their wheels soon. Would it be with another Yeti?

We will be on our second yeti soon, we are awaiting a new 140 manual 4x4, previously had a 1.2 manual petrol.

Once again we looked at the other compareable vehicles but still the yeti came tops in our opinion, the only negative is the waiting time for delivery. See below: On order from Allams, Epsom again.

I am likely to go for another when the time comes (either March or September 2014), partly because it is a great car and partly because my dealer looks after me very well. The only reason that would force me not to is if I wanted a heavier caravan, as the Yeti isn't the heaviest car in the world.

However things like the Volvo XC40 may tempt me when the time comes (but who knows what that will look like!), I like the Mazda CX5 too but couldn't see myself buying one.

Dewi the Yeti has now done 46k miles and won't be replaced until nearer 100k, however if I was updating now it would be to another Yeti, definately diesel but not sure about 4x4.

Currently on our ninth Skoda and second Yeti (x5 octavia's, x2 Roomster's and x2 Yeti's) The first was a 1.2 TSi SE in Muscovado with Park Assist. The new one is a 2.0 TDi Urban in Candy white. No park assist this time, but this is more than compensated for by the inclusion of Satnav, Bluetooth and funny black/silver alloys

I understand our first Yeti (2009 59 plate) was amongst the first sold by my local dealership. In common with most new models it had a few teething problems, requiring an ECU flash, cam sensor and replacement interior lights. It also had a strange rattle from the engine and the Bolero was very slow at reading SD cards (eventually fixed with a firmware flash).

The first Yeti held its value like no other car I've ever owned, making only 1K less than its orignal purchase price, after 10K miles and 1 year. A situation which I imagine is highly unlikely to happen again.

Mine is just over 2 years old and usually would be getting traded in about now. However since my annual mileage has dropped a bit this last while I think I'll hold on to it for another year or so. Its just gone in today to have the ' road rash ' on the rear doors seen to with protective foils put on. A problem with the early models which I never got round to having fixed (and being done under warranty) . Otherwise its being totally faultless, not even a rattle despite 2 years hammering about on mainly single track Highland roads. Have had a look at what else is on the market at the moment but nothing in my opinion comes close in terms of quality and value . Would certainly go for another Yeti .

Well I'm sort of on my third Yeti although I've only physically owned two. Long story but I ordered my first in very early August 09, which arrived in the UK in the middle of September but not to spec. Reordered and received the correct spec in the first week of November. Sold that one to Allams just over a year later with 13k on the clock. Ordered my current Yeti at the same time taking delivery at the end of April 11 and now 14.5 months later she has covered 17k miles including a trip back home to CZ last year.

So with the 5 and a bit month break in Yeti ownership, I've only covered 30k in a Yeti.

My 2nd Yeti hopefully getting picked up this week, 1st was a 2.0tdi 4x4 110bhp elegance and I've swapped for a 2.0tdi 4x4 elegance with DSG, had my 1st since Dec 2010 and covered 16000 miles.

Bought my current Yeti (170 elegance 4x4) in March 2010 and done 29k, ordered my replacement like for like in Feb 2012, should be built sometime next week for sept delivery. Excellent car can't fault it.

:hi: I am also on my second yeti, had the 1.2 on a 59 plate (feb 2010) sold it dec 2010 for a 110 4x4 which was born a week or two after Tims took delivery early may, so the 1.2 only had about 13k on it and my dealer paid within 1k of the new price for it.

As for the next car I would go and order a 170 with lots of toys now, but I think SWMBO would give me so much of a ear bashing then run me over with it and pay of any balance with my life insurance :giggle: .

Maybe in another 2-3 years if they don't spoil the look with a face lift I will have my 170

44000 miles since end of April 2010, and in serious discussions with Sinclair Skoda regarding a replacement before the 50k price-drop point.

Will probably order 170 with sound upgrade again, but in that fab white that suits the Yeti so well.

At the moment the car that cost about £23k is worth about £15k trade-in, though I have yet to start serious haggling! The high mileage doesn't help my case!

I certainly won't upgrade mine until the facelift is out. No point driving the exact same car and getting it just months before the facelift... And if I don't like the facelift I'll keep this one a long time. I kept my last car for nine years so see now issues with this one. BUT my Audi did not have a DPF!

And I've only done just under 16,000 miles in mine thus far! So it is still barely run in!!!

As posted elsewhere, I've just got my second. First was a green 140 4X4 SE purchased in October 2009 - one of the first. I was very happy with it and only changed it because the dealer offered me such a good price and had a very tempting Aqua Blue 140 4X4 DSG Elegance in stock!

I shall certainly be in the market for a second Yeti, which will be the first time I've ever replaced a car with another of the same! Musky is now 18 months old and has covered almost 19000 miles. I would want to change in another 18months , ie for 01/03/14,(mileage will probably not be much above 30000, as I won't be driving to France and back as often now that I have a car there) so may need to think about ordering not far into 2013 - I'll discuss lead times with dealer when it goes in for service next February.

As of two days ago, we are also on our second Yeti, having clocked up 43k on the first one. Although the new one is a DSG, I am finding it more difficult to swap between driving it and my XF. You'd think swapping between two automatics would be easier than an auto and a manual, but not only is the Jaguar's drive selector totally different, I am also used to the EPB automatically disengaging when you accelerate away, which of course the Yeti's manual handbrake doesn't do. Which is embarrassing....

Easy - swap the Jag for Yeti No3! :giggle:
