Parrot or Radio Fault?

Featured Replies

Gents,

Just wondered if you might be able to clarify whether this is a radio or Parrot problem...

I've had two or three occasions recently when the Parrot 3200LS kit we have in our Octavia II has locked up. On occasion it has simply not registered an attempt to make a call, despite bieng connected to the phone via bluetooth (both phone and parrot indicators confirm this) or has locked the radio in 'Phone' mode rather than releasing it back to the radio. On all occasions it has been cured by switching the ignition off and back on again but this can be a bit dodgy to do when on a long journey unless stopped at a set of lights, and can also be a bit of a pain.

I really like the Parrot kit with its display and voice dialling and this situation has only recently started - I'm just not certain whether it is the Parrot kit or the radio at fault.

Any pointers on what to look at and whether there is anything I can reset?

I think it has only started since I replaced the sim in my handset for a new one but I've since delete the old information off the Parrot kit and re-connected the phone again (including re-enabling all the voice recognition stuff!)

For info the car is an 07 plate with a Stream MP3 radio, a Parrot 3200LS kit that was professionally installed and my phone is a simple Samsung GT-C3300k cheapie!

Cheers

Does the display un-clip, on my Parrot (Mki9100) if you slide the display slightly out of the mount and put it back, that'll force it to reboot. Also have you tried doing a software upgrade on your Parrot -you might have to do it from a laptop with Bluetooth -instructions on Parrot website. If your laptop doesn't have Bluetooth you can buy a dongle off eBay for about £1.50.

Nope the display doesn;t unclip - could be good if it did givent the probem! But I'll try a software update as that kight be worth a whirl and I can doit using my work laptop as that has bluetooth (although I have a dongle so could do it with the netbook).

Cheers
