  • Oh geeze, I thought my days of chasing more power were over for the fabia, but I can see what's going to happen here......

If it makes you guys feel any better, we have the wheels in motion to get a BriSkoda sponsorship sorted, just emailing Jason about it now. Nice try PastyBoy ;-) We are going to do a nice package dea

  • A safe setup on a hybrid VB your looking around 215bhp. If you want more then go the GTB route. For road driving i'd want one that gives the widest power band. Area under the curve is what you want

Yes we do buddy I'm just waiting for one of the administrators to get backs to me to see if we can get permission to trade on here so as soon as we sort this you will know a bit more about us and what we offer :). Dont want to step on peoples toes hope this helps

Many thanks

Dean

hmmm interesting, you will have a pm shortly. nothing stopping us from having a chat about it all on private message.

I'd love to see a dyno run on that, because the numbers suggest you need revs.

THere's a dyno graph floating somewhere of my car against the Red stage 3 fabia from up north with the Jabba kit.

Intrestingly, they both come on boost, and follow the exact same torque curve, (apart from min peaking at 360lbs and the red one going on some more).

Yes lol! THat's not my car at all!

It looked more like the Red Jabasport Fabia to me.

(which is a stage 3 with no polished head or bigmouth)

Sorry to dig this one out but im looking some for info..

Does anyone have any experience of the big turbo kit with the GTB1756? Ive been looking all over the web and although there is lots of info on the 2260 there is a lot less on the 1756.

I know it will spool quicker but will it hold the power higher in the rev range?

The 1756 seems to be the new hybrid in terms of technology/numbers but will it actually make hybrid power?

I know theres a few guys on here who really know their stuff about this sort of thing, but is anyone running one?

Thanks for the help :)

A Gtb will spoll alot faster around 2000rpm and you should see 230-250bhp but if your looking around the 230bhp mark go for a hybrid pd130 turbo it be a lot cheaper.we do a gtb2260vk turbo kit and personal I think it's fantastic spoll is a little slow but onces your in the range I the turbo it's all smiles for me :)

Hope this helps

Hi Speedy, you say "we" where do you work, pm if needs be ;)

Im decided on the 1756, id just like to know if anyone else is running it and how is it to drive? Cheers

Best off asking a wider audience IMO. Other cars with this engine, VW in particular... So tdiclub, ukmkivs and vwvortex maybe?

We have held off from doing this for a while now after stumbling across the Dirty Torque website, but since Dean and Karl are now getting customers to plug them on the forums and also dropping hints about their turbo kits when people ask about our kits, I think it is time we tell the truth on how Dirty Torque Developments came about.

I own Darkside Developments with my bro Ryan.

Dean from DTD bought an old turbo setup from Ryan around April last year. From there he sent over 200 emails asking about everything you can imagine to do with diesel tuning. When he was down on cash we helped him out by buying some parts from him for much more than we usually would. We even sold him Powergate Tool so he could tune the ECUs as he wanted to be a 'dealer' for our products and needed us to help him set up a website to advertise the products on. He would be our ‘fitting centre’ down South.

Dean knew who we used for some of our fabrication work, and must have decided to cut us out of the picture. We later found out that Dean drove from getting a load of money from us, straight to the fabricator to discuss their new business venture!

We used this particular fabricator for 1 Manifold and some flanges. All the flanges were all bent and the manifold had very poor welding, so we decided not to use him again. Since then we have heard some horror stories of the manifolds he makes breaking and poor customer service etc.

We paid for the jig for the manifold and the CAD for the flanges so it is yet another stepping stone we created for DTD.

Since we declined to help Dean with the website (why should we help someone set up a business?), he seems to have took it upon himself to use all of our information as his own.

Take a look at their Turbo Kit listing:

http://www.dirty-tor...ts/show/3059915

Look familiar?

http://www.darksided...di-engines.html

It’s a pretty much copy and paste affair of ours in most part.

Also, did they show you their ‘Demo Car’?

‘We currently run this turbo kit on our own Skoda Fabia Vrs TDI PD130 Demo Car which achieves 235bhp /360lbsft’

Have you seen this before? Yep you sure have:

Fabia%20(2).JPG

We fitted that kit with our own bare hands as well as doing all the tuning, it was one of the first we did. Karl, Dean’s brother bought it from the customer we did all the work for (Luke) and now they are passing it off as their work!

If price is all someone is bothered about, I am sure they will go with the DirtyTorque Kit, but we have sold 70 Turbo Kits in just over 18 months, so that shows you something. We used Brand New Genuine Garrett Turbochargers with a 1 Year Warranty, and our Manifolds and Downpipes have a lifetime warranty against cracking. You need to compare apples with apples. Their kits are a little cheaper than ours, but we don’t make a crazy amount on them, so something has got to give. You squeeze on price, you have the squeeze on quality somewhere.

I am sure Dean will come up with some crazy story about how we are lying and that everything was their own idea, but he thinks we are stupid, getting his brother and friends to email us and ring us to ask advice on what to fit etc. Its not clever, it just makes them look like novices.

They are also claiming 328bhp at the flywheel with a set of Firad 80% Injectors. I have no doubt the Injectors will do that power, but there is no way the stock head and camshaft will flow that amount of power, no matter how much fuel, NOS, Water/Meth or fairy dust you pile in there.

You can buy the fake Adidas, or buy the real deal. Its your choice.

Thanks

Scott

Edit: . Dont want to spam I'll stick it on a popular thread.

Edit2: Argh, so many threads, I'll just keep it here... since you replied :p

Sorry to hear that Scott.

What I gather from your post is that you and your bro told a friend some trade 'secrets'? and he used it to start his own venture.

Perhaps the base of his ideas were not original but it doesn't mean he isn't learning after hes acquired that idea. If hes pulling enough customers for you to write something slating him he seems to be doing something right of gaining success and make you annoyed. As Picasso says "Good artists copy, great artists steal", they kind of asked and you gave but not stolen per say from your post.

Perhaps you are the honest businessman with rules and loyalty, and perhaps DTD are little devious and cunning on the business end, but since you only claim horror stories and accusations and nothing solid to back it up (unlike the shameless plugs shown on the forums), its hard to grip what you're saying. In a way you've kind of made a plug for him in that post as he seems to have successfully set his business up and prospering. On the other hand it may seem little unprofessional to slate another company publically without much backing (referring to the horror stories and 'demo car').

Anyway, I hope you guys sort it out one way or another :), I've never dealt with either of you guys, I may do in the future. Right now though Im just telling you how others on the outside may see the post.

We took a long time to consider posting something like this up, for the very reason you said, it is not very professional. Looking at our sales of the turbo kits and other products since they set up, I wouldn't say there is a noticable loss of sales as a result of DTD, however when you get several calls and emails a week from people fishing for information about your products, when you know they are going to buy elsewhere, it gets a little frustrating.

I know what I have said is true, and anyone reading it can make up their own mind. Me and Ryan have always had a fair and loyal business mentality, it is a shame that not everyone does the same. However, I am a firm believer in Karma, so I am sure it will all even itself out one way or another.

I think them passing our turbo kit off as theirs is enough to show what type of company they are. There doesn't need to be much more proof that that. If anyone wants to see the 200+ emails, we have kept every single one.

Thanks

Sounds like a bit of a mess if I am honest.

I did wonder where the car (H4 WTF) with the Darkside Kit on went when it was sold, until now.

Years ago I had two members of staff start up an identical business.

Five years later they folded and lost thier house. So it's not always bad. :D

But it needs to be dealt with properly or it's going to turn into a slanging match.

Having the discussion over multiple threads will only complicate the issue.

Probably something the mods need to be involved in.

And if I am 100% honest I have to say I am surprised Darkside Developments do not sponsor the forum already.

You should be on here druming up business and keeping customers happy.

My 2p worth is that business is business; but there are right ways to do things and wrong ways to do things.

Forums just seem to make either end of the scale much more extreme.

If it was me i'd fight (kind of slightly stolen) fire with fire.

Contact the site bcome a sponsor and do the PR offensive with your own kits.

I'll happily put up my Fabia as a guinea pig ;)

This ^^^

Nice try PastyBoy ;-)

We are going to do a nice package deal for BriSkoda and SeatCupra.net members as well. Keep your eyes peeled for that!

Ok, I'm in!

Watches in interest for the deal you are putting together.
