240bhp, darkside turbo kit vs hybrid?

Featured Replies

is this why the info on setting up the VNT vanished from TDIClub a while back? hopefully people will get all the success they deserve.

totally OT, but my hardpipe kit turned up real quick and was fitted the weekend before last

  • Oh geeze, I thought my days of chasing more power were over for the fabia, but I can see what's going to happen here......

If it makes you guys feel any better, we have the wheels in motion to get a BriSkoda sponsorship sorted, just emailing Jason about it now. Nice try PastyBoy ;-) We are going to do a nice package dea

  • A safe setup on a hybrid VB your looking around 215bhp. If you want more then go the GTB route. For road driving i'd want one that gives the widest power band. Area under the curve is what you want

Ah that makes sense now. Bloody helpful that guide too.

Ah that makes sense now. Bloody helpful that guide too.

Obviously too helpful. :)

Indeed.

Isn't this the reason Darkside fell out with Shark?

Adam

These guys are one reason the VNT Setup Guide got took down, other people were using it against us as well. Yes it was too helpful! haha.

We stopped using Shark as they couldn't do what we needed them to do, simple as that. Thats another Saga.

What customers don't realise is in the tuning game, everyone is trying to rip each other and customers off and steal business. When someone like us come along, and want to do things honestly and fairly, they see it as a weakness and try to take advantage of that. It has still not changed how we do business, we are just more careful who we deal with now.

Thanks

Scott

Just been in your website! It's like a bloody gold mine. I'm saving up now ;)

This thread or anything in it is absolutely nothing to do with why Darkside "fell out with" or are no longer a dealer for Shark Performance software.

Looking at our sales of the turbo kits and other products since they set up, I wouldn't say there is a noticable loss of sales as a result of DTD, however when you get several calls and emails a week from people fishing for information about your products, when you know they are going to buy elsewhere, it gets a little frustrating.

I know Tom who has your set up and loves it, rates you very highly and I know we have spoke in the past and you guys sorted me out a passat (iirc) inlet. I do believe you guys are good at what you do.

However, the quote above. I think really sums up why you have a problem. The problem with this is imho thats business. You will get people asking for quotes, asking for advice and then go else where. I recently asked Mike at Awesome for a quote on wheels, then bought some 2nd hand that popped up cheap. Its the name of the game I am afraid.

I personally think based on what you have said it does seem a little out of order. But hey, if your willing to proove your better and your set up's get better results, then if anything in the long run you should be happy with the extra business and interest the 2260 set up will get and that yours is the better one.

Back on topic, a Polo PD130 with a GTB1756VK Turbo Kit:

We are finishing some tweaks to the file today to get rid of the dip, it was not as noticable on the road.

Nice result there, plenty of low down shove by the look of it. How does that turbo compare to a Hybrid pd130/150?

Joe

Not got a dyno printout for a hybrid, but I reckon it might come in a few rpm sooner, but certainly won't have as much area under the torque curve, which determines how strong the car pulls.
