It has had an mot with this map on it, but it also had the decat pipe on it and the emissions were perfect.

I think it was a dodgy mot to be honest.

emissions are hard to fake, i think its a sensor then buddy if its the case. Def a dodgy mot cos of pipe but emissions are emissions and a machine reads them.

Have you read the codes?

I think its had probe in another car to pass last emissions test.

Yeah i asked the lad i know who does remapping to check it and he said there was no codes, and i have scanned it with torque app and that isn't giving any codes either.

bit of a teaser that buddy, no codes sends me back to ECU issue again, mmmmmmmm

Just found invoice for the remap that was done on car before i bought it. The invoice reads as follows.

1.00 remap spec 1.5 custom with 02-rear-off

Stock power run findings;

High ignition pull ( cheap fuel poor cooling

Boost spike ( too much actuator pre load)

Tuned power run findings:

High ignition pull

poor

Thats how the invoice reads. Not a clue what any of that means to be honest.

Can anyone shed any light on it for me please ?

it just means the original stock map was rubbish, or thats what they trying to say i think,

anyone clarify?

Its really starting to p**s me off now. Just want my car back on the road. Will just get it sorted and then it is time to tax the thing.

feel for you mate, wish i could shed more light. Maybe an ecu would get you back to ground zero.

Could i just get a new ecu and get it coded to my car then ?

i would think so, may need key transponder and immobiliser ring too, ill have a dig

Your emissions should of dropped with a cat on surely? Should of made quite a big difference?

Garage I took mine to used a 3 day old test for my emissions which surprised me, id take your car to a different garage and ask them to do a quick emissions check.

Or you could ask shark for one unlocked

right it will just need coding if you can find one.

If you phone these folk i know it costs £45 for them just to test the ecu but it may be an option, then between £70-£200 to have it fixed, worth a phone.

Still wait for responses that may be more informed than mine, but by illimination it sounds an option to me. Anyone able to shed more light?

Its going into skoda on monday so hopefully they can tell me whats wrong with it.

Has only done about 35 miles since the cat was put on it. Don't want to drive it too much cos the mot is up and if i get caught i'm knackered.

keep us posted dude

What are the latest lambda, HC and CO readings?

Is the HC high, as that indicates unburnt fuel?

I'm wondering if there were different parts (turbo, etc) on the car when it was mapped and the seller put the OEM parts back on, without putting the ECU back to standard.

Last tests are still in the car. Will get them tomorrow when i pop down to the garage to get a few things out of the car.

All the invoices for any mods done to it are dated before the last mot and emap. And i don't think the previous owner was clever enough to remove any of them himself as he didn't even know how to change a broken door cable.

Will keep this thread updated when skoda look it for me.

Thanks for all the help fellas, much appreciated.

When the lambda was knackered on mine, the co was 0.9%. 4%+ is way out. Post the figures as mentioned.

Once upon a time blah blah blah blah blah blah blah, possibly the spark plugs are they due to be changed?

Air filter completely blocked?

Tbh mate i would have changed all the lambda/co2 sensors after it failed the second time when you had the new sport cat put on it would have been much cheaper than taking it to skoda there about £80 an hour labour and by the sounds of things may probably have cured your problem.. If it was your ecu it wouldnt have passed the mot previously and as said it is quite hard to dodge emissions unless your tester is very dodgy lol i work for a garage and have never known any vag ecu to be any trouble..

Well finaly had my car back today, after 2 weeks and just over £800.

Skoda diagnosed it was overfuelling and causung the hugh readings. Their technician managed to get co2 reading down to 2% and passed it at that.

Goin on the rollers on monday to have it tuned and set up properly.

Can't wait to get it running right.

Thanks for all your help and suggestions its much appreciated.

That doesn't make a lot of sense, why would they be measuring CO2? If mistaking it for CO, 2% is still 10 times the limit.

Sorry it is c0. My mistake.

Haven't got a clue why he has passed it, all i know is its got an mot in it now.

Will find out true refings in monday when it goes on rollung road to be tuned and have afr sorted
