Bluefin remap

I ran the bluefin for about 25K with no problems, reading threads on here the symptoms of failure are often reduced power, rough running and you usually get the engine light on with a boost not reached fault.

Quality, nice 1 pal.

No probs mate

My DV failed with about 2 week of going to Bluefin st1, symptom was no power and check engine light on.

If you have ramps (jacks are dangerous) then it is a 20-30 min job tops.

  • You need to put the front of the car on the ramps (I just have the no-frills halfords ones).
  • Undo the star headed screws that hold the undertray in place.
  • The DV is attached to the back of the turbo, you need to unclip the wiring plug and use a long stemmed allen key to undo the 3 bolts holding it in place.
  • Pull it out and inspect the membrane
  • Put the new one in, reverse of removal

If your car is TFSI then I would change it anyway as they didn't come with the latest "G" version and all the others are prone to splitting.

If TSI then you'll be ok

The "G" revision is not indestructable but is much stronger and should last 30-40K at least

Cheers

No mate thats a spacer that goes in between your DV and turbo. It will give the blow off sound.

Unlikely as it's for a 1.8T. Suggest you just get the G revision one from your dealer.

I am looking at doing a remap myself using an MPPS ECU Flash.....so far so good have copied my original ECU off the EEPROM...not just need to find a fair priced decent mapper to do me a proper custom remap so I can flash my ECU with the modified file.......

I have changed my Diverter Valve from the C (rubber end) to the D (diaphragm end) ......didn't realise there was a G!!! But I hear the D is more than good enough for the job after a remap!! Although my C was in perfect nick so have kept as a spare.....

Wish me luck........

Why do you think you need a 'proper custom remap'? Is your car modified or basically standard? If the latter then don't be confused into thinking custom is better.

Well I currently have stock but I just want to remap to 240 which seems to be the average but everywhere I look it's custom.....can I just get a generic VRS/TFSi modified remap file and flash my ecu?

Remap done...all good! fantastic mid range punch right up to 5500! Really feel the difference....and I thought the stock was quick...plus still feels smooth!
