1.8t 20v 4x4 octy MPG, What do you get real world?

Featured Replies

I dont do the drive miss daisy that much and saw on stg2+ average of 20-25mpg combined and very low 30's on motorway long run. This is a realistic amount imo

With the longer vrs gearing fitted I see a solid 5mpg more. and get an easy 30mpg most of the time now

Shame the super spec modded 4x4 is not for sale and on the ebay of doom site :( - company car replacement

If that's the silver estate with the Audi alloys, big props to that one. I'd love it. If I get my firefighting job...

just had my vrs to disneyland paris from dundee. which was a 1600 mile round trip and I averaged 38mpg which was drving throught the night through britain to get to dover for the ferry with speeds averaging 80-85 sometimes more. then sitting at the speed limits in france which are 130kph -81mph. I did the whole trip in 4 tanks which I thought was good.

That's the one, would much prefer it went to someone who appriciated the hard work / cost and time put into the car and enjoyed it. Have to say last few days driving it around makes me think twice about selling as its such a well sorted estate for the money. It really does not miss a beat and drives perfect

  • 1 month later...

Ive had my 4x4 1.8t for two months now 50 / 50 motorway / town driving, my comp average says 29.3mpg and ive worked out the true mpg - miles divided by fuel used.. its 28.8mpg. Poor i know. When i first had it I had various air leaks, but in fact it got better mpg then as wasnt boosting so much!! What i really want to know is does the mpg improve after a remap?

Thanks

Mark

Yes it should. Mine also had lots of big boost/vac leaks when I first had it and economy improved when these were fixed, I then had it remapped (£99 Xmas special:D) and it improved again (but not for the first couple of weeks :D) this also highlighted a whole load of other boost/vac leaks which when fixed improved a bit more.. I went from low to mid 20's up to now getting 35+ regardless. I also have S3 box and a few other bits like pikey wheel arch mod, pikey air box mod with extra hoses into it etc
