Citigo elegance Greentech on the way!

i saw 84mpg in my fabia greenline tonight on the 25mile run home from work,

i got the fabia as it had better mpg than the citigo and with the VAT free offer when i got mine made the fabia not much more than the citigo elegance greentech average seem to be around 62-65mpg at moment

would be interested to see what people get once the citigos are run in for a few thousand and the engines are loosened up, and also if there is much difference between 60 and 75PS mpg

Well, mine was an ex-demonstrator so it had 1600 miles on the clock.

Only done fairly short distances since i got it and the indicated mpg hasn't gone below 60 which i'm very happy about.

Another thing i'm happy about is Motorway cruising, it's revs ab 3,000 rpm at 70, which is a lot lower than my old Fabia 1.2.

oops! Just realised that the car is the 60 Bhp version and the not the 75. Doesn't matter anyway, i brought it for economy and it still goes well enought for me!

Using Roadtrip mpg calculator, for a true figure, we got 57.4 mpg for the first tankful.

That's been doing mostly local 30/40/50 roads and a couple of short trips at motorway speed.

I'm pleased with that and it should improve as the engine loosens up.

That sounds good mpg. I only use the PID mpg, it usually reads about 60-64 mpg after a decent journey.

Well, i did ten miles around town today with plenty of stop/start traffic and - according to the PID - i got 65mpg!

Ok, it probably exagerrates a bit, but it was a good 15 mpg more than i usually got doing the same trip in my old Fabia 1.2, and i thought that was economical!

Great stuff! Welcome to the Citigo owner's club!

My dealer principal said there was little difference between 60 and 75 bhp, save your money.

Done 1500 miles now and it is fine

My Ex has a Fiat 500 Twinair with stop/start.

She never switches it on, too anxious about it never starting again...

To be fair, her fears could be right. I've tried stop start before but fiat's system is no where near as good as VAG's system.

It's failed to restart a few times and cut out directly after restart on my 500.

Only useful feature is that depressing the clutch restarts again, which is useful whilst my younger brother is learning to drive.

I ordered silver too, I think it makes the little car look expensive and classy!
