Octavia III

Yum Yum

White looks cool, wish it had a Sunroof.

ugly front and rear - side profile looks like volvo s40, which isn't bad but a bit old now.

Why do designers think light clusters need to leak across panels? Always looks sh_ite.

Can't be serious with that boot width opening size. It would be sodding useless.

yum yum not, and I'm sure the mk3 will not look like this.

BMW headlights? Not a fan of fogs up in the main cluster (old Golf style). Gotta agree with Rooon, the tailgate definately looks fairly useless.

Let's hope this isn't it.

Not sure what to make of this, front looks like my old Insignia, and back looks a bit like the Mondeo. I agree that the boot opening its rubbish. Rapid would be so much more practical. Fog lights in clusters would not bother me as I never use them. Find they make driving in fog worse! Overall not a bad package but hopefully the final design will be more practically thought out.

Sigh horrible.

Back end looks like a Mondeo - which is ugly. They have also spoiled the front end, which was the best aspect on the mk 2. I think a lot of modern car stylists leave a lot to be desired. Same thing happened at BMW with the notorious Chris Bangle and his horrible "Bangle Butt".

I think its because modern designers, instead of being artists and sketching with pencil and paper like Pinifarina and Georgetto Gugario used to do,

now play around all day with 3D graphics and come up with strange shapes.

Bits that worry me is look at that roof line, anyone over average height (ie: my kids) are gonna have a problem with the headroom in the back and that boot opening is a wind up surely. I don't mind the front that much, looks reasonable to me, but way the rear lights cross over into the boot lid is a bit yuk and the overall appearance smacks of a Mondeo as previously mentioned. Just noticed something else, the front end in profile tends to look like its been punched in the nose to me due to that bonnet edge line tapering upwards toward the windscreen.

I have to agree with most and say I 'hope' this isn't the direction Skoda take with the new Octavia. Mission L and Vision D are much neater and individual in my opinion.

May be wrong but I think this video started off a few years back as a design for the mk II Octavia or at the very least the mk II FL.

Front doesn't match the new direction Skoda seem to be taking so I think this is, at most, just a design exercise. Be interesting if it has any basis on the mk III though, they said its going to be bigger and this look BMW 5 - 7 series size.

Definitely design hints from BMW / Vauxhall / Volvo and there's a hint of Jag in there to.

Prefer the Mk2. Agree with you all. Don't like the front or rear.

Front looks like Vauxhall Vectra, Tail - excuse my language - F*** ugly

My opinion though

May be wrong, but I don't think this is an official design as they are using the old style Skoda badge.

Fin

If it looks like that in the final version...Im buying one ......BUT it wont

This is just a design concept from an independent company, does not look unique, an amalgamation of several cars

i saw this exact same video about 1.5 years ago! way before skoda announced their new design language.

it is NOT the skoda design language.

if u want to c wat the next octavia is going to look like, look at the mission-D & mission-L concepts.

Looks the ugly lovechild of an E90 3 series, Audi A4 and Mondeo. The proportions are all over the shop.

It won,t look like that guaranteed

Had a call from Skoda UK today - trying to sell me another car and pointing out that some of the current offers run out in September. I said I am interested in the new Octavia and the rep said it is expected to be launched in Sept this year with the special versions (I guess Scout and VRS) following later.

They will say anything to sell a car, my mate runs the parts department at a dealer, the Rapid is 1st and then possibly February not Septemberhttp://www.skoda.co....s/homepage.aspx ( you can enquire about it ) .The Citygo was launched 13 months after it was supposed to, well in the uk

Just as I thought it will be launched 29th September at the Paris motor show

From what I have read the new model is between the Octavia and the new (future ) Fabia

It´s 10cm smaller but wider than the Octavia.

The dash is all plastic and know where stands out on the confort of the Octavia.

Price will be around here about 20000€ as de Octavia runs from 24000€.

I have a magazine with the review, will take fotos and put on here.

Well that was a let-down. I was hoping to see some spyshots of a real car. Looks like skoda are keeping this one top-secret until Paris.

Guys, how old is this animation?

This is not current - for a start check out the badge............

I doubt that's it. Minging anyway.

Plus VW will never let a Skoda have twin pipes at the back. That's for Audi.

Some of our models allready have twin pipes.

Or quad - check out the Superb V6!

But not the octy which is a shame cos it does look good on the ones done with aftermarket bits
