Price of a Skoda Stamp?

Well IMHO getting work done at a main dealer for the comeback appears to be a bit of a bluff...

If you get work done at ANY decent garage they still fall under the same rules if there is a problem

Pay with a credit card and you are fully covered?

You pay a hefty chunk of money for that comeback, and from my experience all will try to wriggle out if they can!

Yeaaaah, I'm not sure whether you get the point or not; it's not about the work done at that time, it's about things that may go wrong with the car that seem reasonable for someone to expect NOT to go wrong when the car's still fairly new, such as an engine part randomly and unexpectedly going bang or siezing up for no reason a few years after the manufacturers warranty runs out.

SKoda have a history of being more generous with their goodwill gestures further down the line if the car has a main service history as it shows you're a return customer. Plenty of examples of it on the site.

Which was my point earlier on. This seems to extend to about the 5 year old mark, so get the services done by them until the service at 5 years old. Then go indie.

Mr awol, when your Indy broke the headlight clip, did he tell you? Or did you find it a week later with glue stuck all over it? Just out of curiosity.

I was there when he did it. He'd not known about the pull tabs in the bonnet for removing the headlights and so he tried to push it back in rather than push the lever back in to 'suck' the headlight in. I heard the sound of a small piece of metal hitting the floor and the lever on that side wouldnt hold the light in flush after that.

Luckily the nut that you screw on holds the headlight in fine so the levers are a little unnecessary. He also didnt charge me for some work he did and like i say he's a very good mechanic generally so id use him again (so long as no bulbs need replacing lol).

As per my comments above, I have had mine on freebie's with VAG finance, so far. As I now have the copies of the bill's, notice that its priced at £91 approx incl a bulb @ £2.70 (how much!), so if I was paying for it would I get charged £129??

I was charged £125 last week from my local dealer. The main reason I go there is convenience as it's the closest garage to me (walking distance) and I can get a courtesy car from them so I don't have to take time off work.
