  • I had 42mpg going to Ammanford this morning which for me is a record on that drive. It's hard trying to get good mpg when the car is always egging you on to go quick

Was there a long queue behind Dave? :giggle:

Get your foot down..Youve a vRS not a Nissan Micra!!

Just took a pic, can't post it from my phone though, I'll do it when I get home :)

Much the same mpg, 59.4 achieved

over 175 mile trip on Dual Carriageway & National Limit north to Aberdeen & then single for 50 miles & return.

61.1 on the last mile or so.

'Tesco momentum'

only doing 13 miles when its an ambient temp of around 16 celcius would get me 43 mpg,

and by 20 miles about at 53 mpg and rising, thats on 60mph max roads.

Have had 66 mpg coming home late at night taking an easy 50-60 mph for 20-30 miles

(pictures available if i can email them to someone as i cant post)

Best I've done on a 200 km run open road was 3.6 L per 100km. Worst was just over 5 L per 100km with very hard driving, up to 180 km/hr lots of full throttle overtaking

@sharkrider - How many miles have you got on the clock?

I notice now that I'm getting on average 40mpg with 9k on the clock, 10mpg more than when it was new.

34,000 hari, yours should get better with more miles yet ;)

Ehhhhhhh i though 37.5mpg was good on my way home the other day which is probably a 9-12mile journey......well thats the best iv seen since the day i bought the car and got 42 :(

I'm struggling to get 35 on a run let alone 40/50 :/

Last night was 40 miles done on a braw bricht moonlicht nicht and 22mpg.

The higher MPGs are never done with Cruise control on,

i can loose 2 or 3 even 4 mpg using it on the 20 mile route, with it set at 65mph.

A/C on or off when its needed does not seem to make much difference really when just pottering along enjoying a view,

(i have spent years not using A/C, but then some cars MPG really did suffered with it on IME.

&

not had less than 22 mpg ever showing, yet....

I had to look that up, ( mind all around me are 17% hills do 3 going to work, mind you I hate the flat, its for wuzzies . My engine(ie me) does plenty miles to calories , just ask :whew: Chris :giggle:

i do lots of low mileage trots, However just got back from a 40 mile trip and got 47mpg on the computer which is the best so far for me. I must admit since the car has hit the 10,000 miles things have got better including oil consumption.

get a greenline (1.2tdi 75ps) avg 65mpg and have seen 84mpg maidstone to woking on m25 @steady 62mph

trying to get the 94mpg extra urban next, as only 3k on he clock so still running in :)

true blucar, and you could make that cool 90+ mpg :) I've been coaching a collegue in his polo blumotion to try and get it too :) actually interested if you can :) get 10k + miles and it should start delivering :)

BUT I bet you didn't burn off a **** in a chaved up BMW 325 on the way home :)

VERY childish I know... but it was bloody fun.........

oh, and I made 34 mpg on the way home...

always the same... no rush to work, do the economic drive ect... want to get home at the end... pretend to be a rally driver....

I should grow up, but I just cant seem to :)

note: just proves what a jackel and hyde the vRS can be.... use it, and loose the fuel... dont rush, and dont brake, and get 50 + mpg :)

do burn off a few idiots with baked bean exhausts on saxo's etc (and the odd BMW) in the wifes mk1 vrs and leave them in a cloud of diesel smoke

gives me a bit of a fix every now and again :)

Best I can get is roughly 40, then again I dont exactly drive frugally...

Sorry to go off topic but I can't seem to pm you, doing research before deciding on buying a VRS, I've enquired about price of HeMan dual controls, £400. They say it's because they've never done one on this car before, is this a bit OTT, my 207 was £220 supplied and fitted?

Thanks for your help, apologies again for going off topic.
