Featured Replies

As title what seems to he best option

Thanks

what are you looking for? Panel FIlter is quietest, Open Induction kit makes most noise, Enclosed CAI is somewhere between

CAI will give better performance gains, potentially upto 15bhp on a remapped vRS.

Just really looking to get the most out of the car

The reason I asked is because I no a lot of vag applications are some what sensitive to cone filter mods

I was hoping to use the forge Twintake kit but as I have the maf which it doesn't work with (not sure why) that's a no go

So looking for other options

Mark at Swict is going to do a custom map on it once its all ready

Gonna order the Jetex C.b tommorow and then get the d.p and 200 cell sorted next couple of weeks

Then its onto the suspension

Prob is after my 530bhp Rs4'd S4 I'm always gonna be chasing that bit extra......its gonna be difficult but I'm willing to try.......

I can recommend the APR Carbonio kit, I believe Awesome had them on sale recently, failing that the ITG kit also looks good

Which maf do u guys have on yours. Just wondered why forge can't do anything with there's for my maf code

If it applies to all kits with that maf...??

Sorry mine is the 06J maf

Just ordered one of these. Massively reduced so decent saving probably wouldn't have bothered otherwise.

That's what I've got, taking it's the APR one. Is a quality piece of kit. Have fun taking the clamps off the hose for the MAF sensor!

It's not actually the APR one but is exactly the same I am lead to believe. There's a technique to those clamps lol.

What sort of gains did you get?

Would you even get any gains from it??

Well APR own Carbonio so there's a reasonable chance they are the same. ;)

Would you even get any gains from it??

Yes. Gains from intakes are well proven.

The one I ordered in the link above is neither APR or Carbonio. It's Carbon Speed with a PiperCross filter.

Yes. Gains from intakes are well proven.

yeh i know the likes of ITG are proven but that carbonio thing looks a replacement for the plastic bit thats in the engine i dont see any benefits to replacing it other than looks.

It's an enclosed cone filter with a feed direct from the oem grill intake. Very different to the 'plastic bit'. Enclosed filters within intakes are considered better by some as it shields the filter element from engine heat.

Don't forget the filter for the TSI sits towards the front anyway, not the same stupid design as the TFSI.

Just installed my Carbon Speed CAI with PiperCross filter. Not really had much of a chance to test it out but it sounds better and somehow feels a bit more urgent and responsive so good result.

Looks good Jonno easy straight forward fit....???

I was looking at the Awesome one a few months ago! Now I have a £50 voucher (courtesy of and extra long day at Awesome) for them it looks even more better deal!

Looks good Jonno easy straight forward fit....???

Very straight forward, which was fortunate as it didn't come with fitting instructions!

Did you get much extra noise or power from it?

Bit more induction noise but not silly.

Feels slightly more responsive and urgent somehow. Could of course be the placebo affect.
