Looking for new tyres - are these a good buy?

Featured Replies

lol... again you contradict the reviews. Yes there's a compromise, but not all compromise means unfit for purpose.

I don't give a carp about following the flock

The OP has a vRS, and is looking for performance

You won't get that on a all-season

Fine for a scooby forester which is never reaching the NSL

i think the problem is most of us don't have the luxury spending loads on tyres and running 2 or 3 sets for different occasions so it needs to be a good buy first time round.

tyres are like women....its subjective, we don't all like the same!

however DBP, you run a fwd remapped vrs (like most of us on here) trust what we are all saying;

the sessanta is an awesome tyre

t1r toyos are awesome tyres

good year eagle f1 asymmetric is also an awesome tyre one thats not been mentioned and one i would 100% recommend!

I dont see loads of reviews for the uniroyals, if you want take a punt, but i would rather go with the flock on this one....

This is what happens when you are spoilt for choice :D

I had like a choice of 5 or 6 lol

And 2 were unavailable so thats almost halved my options

Hehe

I'm with Raf on the 225 issue, I used 452's on both sizes and could'nt get more than about 33 mpg on a run, on 205's I can get over 40.

I also suffered tramlining, and I killed KU31's in about 6 k on the front. We must be separated at birth or something lol

I plan to go for........ .... ... .. . . . . . . The uniroyals! Wooo decision made!

I decided to go for them because for starters I preferred the tread pattern. Looks more on the ball. Also it comes in the direct fitment unlike the sennsantas. In the tyre review tests the rS2 came in the top 10, even against the sennsantas, where as the sennsantas came 9th in all tests. And every company that I have called up went.. "oh, great tyres!"

Now, is this the cheapest I can find them?

Any Brisky discounts out there?

Good tyre, though the sidewalls are a bit on the soft side.
