All I got was worse fuel consumption and tram lining, handling was just the same lol

Unless you used the exact same tyre in both sizes you could never be sure of that. I've had CS3s in both sizes and there has literally been no difference. Maybe a teeny bit more planted but thats probably more of a placebo than anything.

True I went for kuhmo ku39 on the front, gripped the same as the 452 but lasted 7months wearing evenly, tram lining and worse fuel economy.

Tried saving a tenner as they were a fiver cheaper than the 452 ended up costing loads more lol

why dont you get 2 Michelin Pilot Sport PS2 at the back, used with 4-5mm left on them, and get a new pair (any make) for the front? I had 4 Pilot Sport PS2 and the tire is just ridicilously good in the dry. When the 2 front gave in I bought Dunlop Sport Maxx, compare to the Pilot Sport I'd give it 6/10, but the feel of the car is really great. Stay away from Bridgestone, one of the worst tires I 've had in my life and paid a fortune too

Bridgestone are an excellent tyre, never had any issues with them. :)

Rainsports seem very aptly named for our current summer, on that basis you should buy some

I do like my rainsports :)

They do a grand job of keeping my octy the correct way up

They do look nice and chunky and fat :)

Tbh tho i am very pleased with them mate ;)

Give or take some ..... Private roads , i do have tendancys to drive like its just been obtained illegally at times ;) and woooo it still in 1 piece

All you guys are forgetting 3 months of the year when we have greasy, icy, and sometimes snow covered roads. I've had one winter in the vRS with performance tyres and it was very scary at times, and impossible at other times.

Seriously thinking about Vredestein Quatrac 3's, Hankook Optimo 4S, or a set of Goodyear 4 Seasons. Haven't decided which yet, though.

Anyone any experience with them?

That's why I have winter wheels, tires last longer which offsets the cost of them, job done lol

Yeah, having winter tyres is definitely the ideal situation. Not possible for some of us, though.

Dunno why, Yeh the outlay is more at first but it works out pretty good once done. Wheels arn't that expensive if you look hard enough ie got my shabby golf gti alloys for 40 quid lol

We don't suffer from snow and ice much here in Bournemouth. Tends to be sludge at its best.

Two issues, space to store, and for some paying out a few hundred quid may not be easy.

It's the former for me.

ps

Toyo PX4's are surprisingly good in snow

lol believe me they are good in sludge, soon as the temp stays around 5 degrees they are on for the winter. Though for your area I would say all season tires would do you

All season tyres are pants dude - neither one thing or the other - just compromise is my (limited) experience of them

A grade 1 winter tyre is much better

Vredestein snowtrac 1 for example

snow + mud ;)

I saved for 6 months for mine and they live under cover in the shed over warm weather. I'm not made of money but they are the best safety investment I've made, and they last atleast 3 winters and my summers last longer too

lol... again you contradict the reviews. Yes there's a compromise, but not all compromise means unfit for purpose.
