Engine cover

Featured Replies

How hard would it be to paint the engine cover of a mk2 fabia Vrs in rally green with the tsi in red an the skoda badge in silver outline and black in the middle

I'd have thought easy to spray, only concern would be the heat under the bonnet, would the paint peel under intense heat?

I remember seeing something about someone doing this, possibly in the Octy section.

I've thinking about painting my engine cover on my RS estate the heat is a concern but i think you can get high temperature paint for engines

I've had mine painted by a body shop using normal gloss white paint and lacquer, been done around 8 months ago..no problems with paint bubbling or any defects

Plastic primer then regular body paint. High temp paint on the heat shield though.

A Greek member PM'd to congratulate me on a very nice job - I was honest enough to admit it was shamelessly pilfered from another site :bandit: .

That looks sweet

what did you do ? chrome paint or polish?

polished by Hand and Mashine.

even after 2 Month it still looks nice and dried water from the street is easy to remove with a wet towel

That's dedication as its not particularly good metal to start with.

Thats just polished? :o i though it had been chromed dipped or something

Time to bust out the rotary polisher and autosol!!

Had the Autosol on mine last weekend and it comes up a treat..
