Cibie Oscars yes or no

Featured Replies

Hi Folks

I have the chance of a set of cibie Oscar spot lights free gratis and it has taken me back to my youth.

I'm in two minds what the fabia would look like with them on I would spray them black make brackets and just run them in the winter.

What do you all think

Yep, I too think that they would look naff, but they work just great!

Focus the nearside one onto the right hand kerb and the driver's side one onto the left hand kerb about 300m in front of you and bring on winter!

Wire them into your main-beam circuit with a simple on/off switch on the dash and build solid brackets or else the constant flickering will drive you nuts.

Oh how i miss the days of Mkw2 Escorts with 4 Cibie Super Oscars up front.

None of yer xenon crap for us in those days :)

I know the nwales area MSA scruitineer has I think put kc day lighters on his fabia 2. There not that big of a lamp and they don't look to bad on it tbf

You could go a bit mad a stick a set of lightforce on as there massive

That's going back a bit! I had replacement Cibie headlamps on my 65 Mk1 Cortina, they were awesome.

Thanks for replies so far .

I'm at the planning stage of making brackets will get pics posted asap

The only awkward bit I can see is that the grille is attached to the bonnet so you'll need a bit more clearance to be able to open it without moving the lights

I can remember a Brisky member, Shifty, who fitted a WRC lamp pod with PIAA driving/spot lights in. It looked very good. If I can remember, he stripped it out and fitted bucket seat too. B)

I've searched and there are threads discussing it, but the pics have gone/deleted.

Luckily I had saved some pics to my computer when I saw them, so have uploaded them myself.

True, I should have asked him first if I could use his pics. I hope they were deleted by photobucket (due to inactivity) and not by him on purpose. I therefore hope he doesn't mind me posting them.

I believe he sold his car to another Brisky member, who I'm sure is/was aware of the car's history.

Oh dear, I think you'd constantly get laughed at if you drove around with those on!

hmmm, bit big for the Fabia, that!
