Interior ideas

Featured Replies

I've been thinking about different ideas for brightening up the interior and I came across this:

As I have custom leather I was thinking of matching this to blue leather.

I'd love to get it wrapped in leather, but I'm sure that will get quite costly, so I could get some matching paint :-)

What would people think of this?

Leather could look classy but i think painted may look a little weird.

Yeah maybe. If I did paint it I'd like it textured so it still fitted in :-)

Could you try something like plasti dip rather than paint. That should give you the texture and if you don't like it then it peels straight off! I think it would look smart though.

Glovebox lid is probably a good candidate for experimentation. I've thought about this sort of thing in the past. There are several styling lines on the doors and dash that match up. Airbag in the dash passenger side is something to be wary of... Reckon I'd only go for it if I went bigger with my ICE though and needed to customise the door cards.

Thanks for the plasti dip idea. Hadn't thought of that! There are a few style lines, which is what gave me the idea :-) think I'll have a play with the glove box :-)

I always liked the idea of spraying the air vent surrounds, usually the same colour as the outside of the car.

Im a fan of oem+ really, I have a 1.2 sport which comes with pretty basic spec, but just looked out for optional extras and now have heated seats & the oem buttoms, oem airbag switch button, ASR dash button, esp dash button (i have a full set now with no blanks!) oem 6 cd multichanger, oem satnav MFD unit, pop out cup holder, mk4 golf interior light with map lights either side and all bright white interior lights.

Nothing els i'd really want to do to my interior so cant suggest much els :)

When I picked up the car the vent surrounds had been wrapped in carbon. Looks quite smart and adds some much needed disruption to the otherwise dull interior. Cheap and easy to do too!!!

I've done the grille surrounds in a gloss black at the moment. Just thought I'd look at unique ideas :-)

I know you can get awesome unit in these tv etc I bought one not expensive either and you can buy some really nice seats from the Internet have a look around something has got to catch your eye :)

get the dash flocked to match

I wouldn't add paint or flock.

Flocking suits jap cars and stripped out vags, but IMO would look silly up against full premium leather.

Paint will look naff, even textured, that's a lot of ground youre covering.

Good all out or don't bother, so having it done in leather would be my only vote. Although I think it looks good as is and would be overkill to add more blue.
