EGR question

Featured Replies

Hi,

The engine management light came on. Code showed 19586 suggesting EGR problem. Taking off the vacuum pipe and sucking towards the EGR I can keep on sucking and air keeps coming through. I think this means the diaphragm has died - is that right? If so, is the only answer a complete new EGR?

Many thanks

just block the vac pipe, and pay someone to map out the egr from management system

could just be jammed open / shut.

jammed open could give symptoms such as difficult starting. Anyway, maybe take it off and give it a good clean.

but if he can keep on sucking the diaphragm will be leaking, jammed open he wouldnt be able to continue to suck, or closed. cheapest way is to map it out
