Tyre choices

Featured Replies

Well, need 4 new tyres.

Bushes needed doing and together with bad wheel alignment my tyres are almost illegal =( shame.

Anyway...

The company that did my alignment on the Hunter (Recommended by the way as handling is awesome again now), they have an offer on Toyo Proxes PX4E 225/40/18 92Y, £100 each fitted.

Has anyone used these on an Octavia vRS before? I have read some reviews and they seem to be a good choice.

Who did your alignment?

Got it done at Addison Tyre Centre

http://www.discounttyresuk.co.uk/ but that's in Birmingham, a bit far for you to travel down to ;)

If you go to http://www.alignmycar.co.uk/ you can search for Hunter Alignment near you. I paid £42 to get the front wheels done, rears didn't need doing but you can pay up to £70 odd to get all 4 wheels aligned correctly.

I've just had mine all done today, it was all over the place and all 4 tyres badly worn on inner edges (FK452's).

I've now put the new Falken FK453 on as I've heard nothing but good things about them so at £82+ VAT each I thought it was worth a go, only done about 20 miles but there's a huge difference in road noise, these are instantly quieter. I'll let you know how they are in a few weeks if I still have the wheels on.

But not far away from where I stay near Inkberrow every few weeks. Thanks for the useful info.

Nice. Tempted by these next I must say, have been pondering what to put on. Don't see Camskill with 453 stock yet though, just 452. Will see if anyone else has them.

Aah, another day, another tyre thread.

I've done around 200 miles now and the lack of road noise is a dream come true!!! The 452's were very noisy, these are almost silent - Even my Wife noticed it when we were out and she doesn't usually know what I'm on about if I mention road noise etc...

So far I have to say I'm really impressed, hopefully they'll wear well but seem far superior to the 452's at the moment.

Sounds very promising - where did you get them from?

I got them locally at a place in Newbury called the Tyre Barn.

Thanks. I've asked Camskill when they'll be getting stock in.

Nick - just to clarify, did you buy them in 225/40/18 size?
