And I know I'm biased!

not sure about rating system. owners rated it better than this car or that, but surely its down to each individual. someone owning a tt for example could be coming down from a noble so handling is rated poor. likewise a new yeti owner may have had a citroen dolly, hence high rating.

too flawed for me to believe.

However i do rate them myself, and may get one for the wife eventually. Oh and a 2wd? why?

I swapped my 4WD for a 2WD Greenline.

Why?...I never went off road in it,and my new dealer has sets of winter wheels and tyres .

i suppose, but just saw it as the 4x4 type vehicle. had same quandry with the qashqai didnt make sense

Good to see it again. I think I saw it when it was 1st released in May; a couple of the owners being interviewed are Briskodians IIRC.

On the 2WD vs 4x4 topic - I wanted 4x4, not to go off-road, but for 'quattro' on wet roundabouts et al. ;)

That's one of nearly a dozen Yeti clips that I've watched more than once during the long months of waiting for the Real Thing. Sad, perhaps, but you've got to keep your spirits up somehow :|

My probable favourite is the Surrey 'Skoda Yeti Adventure' of March 2011, starring Rockhopper and Johann from currently posting members. It's posted here somewhere....

Found it:

Lots more if you're interested in http://www.briskoda.net/forums/topic/192670-yeti-adventure-surrey-4x4-lane/page__st__90

That was some expedition!

Same here. Sure-footedness on Scottish Highland roads in all sorts of weather was a major consideration for me. The Impreza had been awesome in that respect. As its replacement, the Yeti has not disappointed in any way.

Mines in the Surrey Adventure as well. Storm Blue.

This was an AWESOME video.

If there is a trip planned like this in the future, I would LOVE to participate.

Sincere apologies to you - and to TJK, Jan25 and SK10ODA, as well as James, late of Allams. Legends among Yeti-dom, the lot of you!

PS M'lady has just seen the video. 'Don't even think about it!' was her comment. Reminded, politely, of our LR days, she said 'You were younger then. A lot younger.' :'(

If you want to see any more Yeti video's head over on to TheMikeProcter on YouTube.

Climbing off road, steep hills, snow and on track.

...TheMikeProcter on YouTube....

Thanks for the pointer. I had a quick peek last night and now look forward to browsing!

Obviously only 4x4 can make it round wet roundabouts as with all over 2wd vehicles obviously just crash in a ball of fire

"WHAT A COMPLETE LOAD OF CRAP"

Oh dear, here we go again. A complete inability by a poster to respond without being rude and in this case without apparently having even read the post he is commenting on. Barnstormer is merely light heartedly (the wink smiley) suggesting that 4x4 is better for traction on wet roundabouts et al, which clearly it is. He said nothing about 2wd vehicles crashing in a ball of fire - that's you reading something into the comments that isn't there.

I suppose an apology for your rudeness is out of the question?

Likewise I don't normally venture to far of tarmac; the odd field at a country park or rutted gravel track is about it. However, come winter on the high ground round here and 4x4 just gives that extra bit of security, which I feel is worth paying extra for. Also as 'bvrs' stated its great for making progress around round things and twisty country lanes. Re wet roads though and the Haldex 4x4 has an Achilles heel, with 2wd you more likely to get warning of the onset of aquaplaning etc. the Haldex however, will keep trying to keep you honest until it's to late and you've lost it. So you need to drive with just as much care in monsoon conditions as those just driving one pair of wheels not two.

Oh and everyone's view has a valid point even if you don't agree ;):giggle:

Indeed TP, by its very nature a forum will have several viewpoints. Many of those views will differ, it's the way one expresses disagreement that matters....

If I said something using those words I'd get the wrath of the whole Forum on me!!

Surely it depends what you want. 2WD or 4WD.

My wife has the former and never drives fast or has traction issues. Only drives on the road and has a set of winter tyres.

I may press on a bit and certainly notice the benefit of 4x4. Not to mention having more weight in the rear which balances the handling nicely IMO. But then I also do a bit offroad and tow a trailer of around 1900kg. Both things I couldn't do in a 2WD.

Horses for courses.

but back to the original video, the one female owner was praising the big boot, and saying they had four adults plus a baby, buggy and luggage going on holiday to France and they had loads of room for wine and presents........what has she been smoking?

We used to fill the boot of my Octy estate with 2 of us, a baby, luggage and buggy. I didn't even think about a yeti until my son was able to leave the buggy behind.

Thoroughly enjoyed the video, also watched the short practical caravan video, made a change to hear a review finding a couple of could do better points.

As regards boot space, I used to take my wife and kids camping with all the associated clutter in a saloon car with a boot not even a hatchack.

Five of us went camping in France in an old Skoda Rapid, with no roof box!!
