Vrs oil breather pipe !

Featured Replies

Ive owned my vrs for a year and a bit now and im coming across certain faults from the previous owner, The oil breather pipe which should go to the induction feed was positioned at the bottom of the engine and was wondering if this should be attached back to the induction as ive noticed smoke coming from the head lights and leaking oil on the road, Or should it be attached to an oil catched tank as ive read up that it can affect the turbo as it being a hybrid and having a map and a egr delete valve, Any help would be appreciated as the smoking at night is a bit annoying.

Just leave it under the engine IMO, much better than having all that crud going into induction feed. A few people do go to the trouble of fitting a catch can and routing back to the induction feed, but I didn't bother, it just ejects (a very tiny quantity of oil) under the car.

Its just the smoking which is annoying and leaving oil spots over the drive, so would you advise getting a catch tank?

Mine can be seen to smoke if i look under the car, quite a few black spots in the garage too where it drips. Yeah, you need to install a catch can to stop this happening.

And should I be feeding this back into the induction I guess???

It's up to you, it would be nice clean air (albeit warm) so could feed back into the induction or just vent it under the car using your existing pipe(s).
