Favourite gear ?

Not your jeans and t shirt, but you knew that

The answers will be different from diesel drivers to petrol drivers, although not from me!

First gear I find pants, boring, thrashy and over to quickly in the petrol and diesels.Third is interesting in both, fourth, fifth and sixth bit boring.

No,second gear for me in the octy vRS.Get the revs just right and boot it and its the grin inducer for me :D Nearly lost control when I first had the car and did it.

Second in the furby too.

Yep, 2nd gear at the right time is what I always look forward to selecting.Sad eh or are you as bad ;)

2nd in the Octy for sure - third doesn't have the same kick.

2nd in the 928 - goes from 10 - 110 mph :D

Best I remember was a Toyota Carina I had as a company car for a while 2nd really made you smile in that.

Deffo 3rd, especially as i drive on country lanes all the time.

I know this is very unscientific (sorry scooby chris) but i floored it in 3rd at 40mph last night and by the time i counted from 5 elephant to 6 elephant i was already doing almost 80 :)

SKODA POWER

3rd on the fabia has more range that the rest so it's that for me :D

2nd in the Octy. Actually 2nd in every car I've ever owned.

3rd gear. 20mph to 80mph. :D Is a superb gear, better than 2nd for sure which doesn't go much above 45/50.

i like slow wind up to 40mph and get into third...pootle along for a while.. then BANG down to second! and thats how we take off!! and make my passenger poo them selves and give me a big smile..

Furbie vRS has to be 3rd & 4th..........WOW

3rd in a Fabia vRS easily. Going by my scientific method of stopwatch timings it averages out at 5.8 seconds to get from 30-70. Got to be careful in 2nd as the rev limit comes up really fast.

Third in an Octy vRS - makes slip roads fun.................

Second gear in the Octy vRS, drop it at 35mph and don't change up until about 70, sheer magic ! :D

What you need to know is that it's a 3-speed auto :D

3rd/4th really - 4th for motorway, 3rd for < 60mph roads for that nice blast past :D

2nd in the Octy for sure - third doesn't have the same kick.

Another 2nd gear fan here.

In the Octy you get a very nice shove in the back when you boot it in second , and on my bike 2nd gets you up to about 85 in less than 5 seconds (guesstimate as I'm clinging onto the damn thing at this point)

3rd - from easily legal to highly illegal (in the RS) about 20-110. Well wikkid! :D

Hi

I've only had my Fabia vRS for a week but the one thing that I've found is that in the running in period, 2nd gear is dangerous :D If you're not careful, you will be way over the rev limit in no time flat.

all the best

Brian Jones

3rd gear here! :D

2nd every time for the boot up the ar$e feeling
