How To - Deactivate double press remote unlocking

Featured Replies

Got a fellow Brisky member who wants to deactivate his double press option on his remote central locking.

By that I assume he wants to be able to open all doors when pressing the unlock button on his remote rather than only the drivers door and a further press to open all other dorrs.

Can some provide a walk through/instructions on how to do it using VCDS please?

Many thanks in advance.

Yes its me !!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks mark

I find it annoying, when if you don't give it the second press within a time limit, then the rear doors remain locked. So you have to lock (the car) again, then unlock it with a double press in order open rear door (to hang your jacket up on the hook). I suppose its fine if you have no passengers and never wear a jacket.

You see when you get grumpy like me, these things are important!

Commonly known as 'one door unlock'. Even if you have it activated, you should find if you miss the time limit, you should just be able to 'double-click' on the remote's unlock button to repeat the process - no need to re-lock the car.

I find this one is a 'marmite' setting - some love it, some hate it (I have it deactivated myself). I can see both sides and it's a handy option to have available, especially if you're on your own in the car a lot, in less than ideal areas!

As yours is 2005, this process will definitely work in VCDS (not sure if they've moved it on a FL)

Goto Module 46 – central convenience

Goto 10 - Adaption

Goto Channel 3

Settings are 1=on, 0=off

Thanks Wardy for help.

I fricking hate this feature myself. Turmed it straight off! lol

Ditto first programming change I made.

We had this on our A4 and now on the Superb. I love it - catches the wife out every time

Thanks Wardy

Phil, ready to give it a try when you are.

You confused me for a second then... I then realised there's two Phils in this thread. lol

Do you want any VCDS doing then, 'other' Phil? ;)

Well Mark (Octimark) has kindly offered to help in this respect Wardy - he lives quite close to me in Sheffield and has a VCDS. I have a VCDS Lite which only allows a very limited look at the engine controller. I'm interested to see if anything is set about the climate system - the compressor is gone (I think) plus would like to check the mileage and turn off the 'one door' feature.

Thanks Wardy I appreciate your offer and the pointer to the correct control module. !

"Selective unlocking inactive" - and has been since my earliest memory of having my car! Hate it, I want to unlock and go straight to boot/back door without having to press again.

Here, here! I'm amazed dealers have never gone through the coding options with new cars to ask what options you want enabling/disabling.

Will this work on my Dads allroad?

I'm going to give it a try anyway :bandit:

This forms part of the PDI process, unless I'm very much mistaken. Although it never seems to be followed (if my experiences are anything to go by, and also those I know who've picked up brand-new VAG vehicles)

Should do Mark. This one's been an option on non-CANBUS and CANBUS VAGs for some time. Also on later AllRoads (C6 onwards?) this should be an option within Maxidot (or whatever Audi call it).

Works on all remote central locking motors that I have ever hooked up.

What is a VCDS?

I need to disable my double click.

It’s a diagnostic system

For reference: www.Ross-Tech.com

VCDS takes a windows PC and turns it into a near factory level diagnostic tool.  Through its Coding function, one can change the turned on installed options of the vehicle.

In US, the dealer is not permitted by VAG to make such changes.  The vehicle must be set to a certain set of allowed parameters that have been approved the NHTSA.  For example: one button window up/down is not permitted by NHTSA for new cars leaving the lot for they have decided a child could be pinched.

Could it be that governmental interference is at the root of the dealer not asking?
