Knowledge of Apex springs?

Featured Replies

When I bought my car it was lowered on Apex springs. I never thought much about it, but it has always been lower at the back than the front. See Exhibit A:

Do Apex springs sit like that with standard shocks on the vRS?

Or, are my rear shocks gone?

A few people have reported this with varyious companies springs. General consensus is they say the springs fit the Octavia when in fact they are Golf springs. Long and short of it is the Octavia has a heavier back end than the golf for obvious reasons causing it to sit lower.

That's a very plausible reason for what's happened in my case. I've no idea where the guy got the springs, and for all I know they could be for a mk4 Golf, or perhaps Apex only have the only spring rate for all cars on the mk4 Golf chassis.

Either way, the way my car sits bugs the life out of me. It needs rectified!

Yes possible weighted for a golf rear end

Also the arch design on the octavia makes the front look higher!

If anything, I'd prefer the front looking like it's lower. That's why the reverse is particularly annoying. lol

My vrs sits about same with my jom coilovers on, i have the rear spring cups wound up as far as they will go and i don't want to lower front end anymore than it is as its speedbump central round near me and i also like how front sits

You have the rear wound up to its highest and its sitting like mine? Surely that can't be right?
