Steering related rattle. Inner tie rod end?

Featured Replies

Just a quick confirmation. I am starting to get the tinies play since dropping my car, a very slight rattle. Every joint and bush on the car has been replaced, including track rod ends.

When u hit the back or the front of the tyre from the outside i can hear it, and if i get someone to wiggle steering wheel too i can hear it. I have deduced it to be the inner tie rod end thats at fault.

Is this a regular occurance? my tie rods are at 30 degrees almost with being slammed so i would imagine this has aggravated it somewhat.

Work done:

ball joints

wishbone bushes

arb bushes

drop links

track rod ends

coilover kit (all tight and play free)

This would be all thats left i think.

Cheers Carl

well a good couple of days and i have to say the help i recieved has been second to none. :giggle:

Changed tie rod, rattle remained. What it was, was strut top bearing nut wasnt tight down, it was when i did it, and the nut on top made sure it was locked, however it settle and the hat had dropped, from what i thought was seated, to its actual seated position.

Tie rod was needing done also though
