Smf?

Featured Replies

Do i go smf or not?

Ive got a 1.9tdi elegance, so its 5speed. An the clutch has started slipping. Was thinking of going g60/vr6 clutch and fly.

What power/torque can they hold? Was thinking of a remap and a few other lil mods to see some power out of it as 100bhp just aint enough.

And also, how loud is the 'chatter'? Is it bearable? Its my daily atm so dont want it to sound knackered everytime i get in :p

Any help/recommendations are greatly appreciated

Luke

light race ones chatter and ive heard a few......some like it, but its not for me. I have an smf but its a valeo kit and has a matched weight flywheel so its still singke mass but its quiet.

Up to you mate, light nimble clutch/flywheel = clatter.......... heavy solid flywheel= no dual mass to worry about, quiet, but not got the responsive nature of the light jobs.

I believe the valeo one can take 310lb ft of torque, others probably alot more.

Either way I would say yes do it! The rest is your choice

The g60 flywheel and heavy duty g60 clutch will be able to handle the power you'll be putting through it.

With regards to chatter, it should be pretty much silent as the g60 flywheel is fairly heavy. I fitted the above set up to a 100hp seat Ibiza, and the only time I heard the tiniest amount of chatter was just as you set off.

Hope this helps

sounds like your on the right track then Luke. Fire down the g60 root
