Allard EGR delete

Featured Replies

Hi all

Thinking of fitting one of these to my fabia vrs

Are they straight forward enough to do? I've got an ASZ engine

Do I then have to have it mapped out cos the eml will come on?

I seen to have a bit of oil around my egr but not sure where that's come from :(

Thanks in advance

This has bern covered a million times! Have you searched?

Basically its fine on ASZ, fiddly job but its just a few allen bolts. Youll need it mapped out or EML will be on.

How do you know what engine you have?

There's a sticker on top of the cam belt cover that will have ASZ or BLT on it.

I fitted an Allard kit to my BLT, 1 vacuum pipe, an electrical, plug then 2 bolts for the small pipe from the exhaust manifold to the bottom of the EGR valve. 3 bolts hold the EGR valve to the inlet manifold, you fit a blanking plate to the exhaust manifold with 2 M8 nuts, Forge also sell an EGR delete. I had a custom stage1 Shark map to put out the EML on the dash as removing EGR gives 3 active engine fault codes.

As you are in Chester, this chap may be worth a call:

http://www.demonchips.co.uk/

He is in Chirk so not far away.

My 1.4TDI had a failed diaphragm in the EGR. I posted a question on this forum and the unanimous answer was to get it mapped out. I checked prices and Awesome in Manchester would map it out, but wanted it repaired first (!).

Demon chips wanted £140 for just removing the EGR warning, but would do a full remap for £200. I got the remap a week ago and the car is so much smoother and quieter. There is more power and more torque at lower revs. Fuel consumption seems to be extremely good, but I haven't filled it again so can't give a figure. Filled to very top 540 miles ago and shows 2/3 left. Needle didn't move until over 300 miles whereas usually when I check it it starts to drop at about 270 so there is a difference.

I'm very pleased and can recommend this answer to the EGR problem. I have no connection with the company (indeed I never asked the technician's name - but he was friendly and helpful). HTH
