Value of repaired Cat C write-offs

Featured Replies

Anyone had experience with how the value of a car is affected after a 100% successful repair of a Cat-C write-off? Just wondering really if the market value really plummets big time?

And in case anyone is thinking what I think they're thinking, no my wreck is not going back on the road. That was a cat B anyway, and is not allowed to, even if I was somehow able to. :)

Cat C may have structural damage so may need jigging etc. The fact it's a Car=t C I'd have thought would affect the value significantly. I've had a couple of repaired Cat D vehicles. One of which was part ex'd and the other sold privately for just a bit less than market value. Fluke though tbh.

If it's on the hit list it's going to be very difficult to sell on unless it's very cheap.

It's not worth it.

They can make a reasonable buy for your own use if you plan to run them into the ground when resale value is going to be minimal anyway , but to sell on for a profit it's a non starter IMO

not spotted the vRS cat C on Ebay then ;-)

There's a battered octy elegance, and a well and truly knackered 1.2 Fabia, but I don't see any others?

Anyway, no - nothing to do with ebay for a change - more out of curiosity than anything. :)

Do a search on completed eBay items Jase, I just spotted it tonight as well, looking for something else.

As has been said, I'd only ever look at this sort of thing if I intended keeping it long enough for the resale value to be minimal anyway.

If you buy cheap, expect to sell cheap :)
