Pd150 turbo on a pd130 engine

Featured Replies

As some of you will be aware, my turbo went kaboom.

Can someone tell me if the pd150 blower will go straight on the fab?

Yes straight fit - virtualy same core unit with different size impeller and exhaust. Im planning the same onc ei gather some other bits like gaskets, bolts and new oil feeds etc.

How much will one of these set everyone back?

New/recon unit from CR turbos is around £700ish. Second hand you run the risk of what condition its like, but could get a bargain. I got a brand new CR turbos recon unit from a guy on UK-MKIVs for a very reasonable price :D

How much gains just from this swap?

That'll be plus a return PD130 core - £150 surchage iirc?

No gains from a straight swap, youll need a remap to get the gains. PD130 gets upto around 170bhp. PD150 can get 200bhp at a reasonable push (both with associated Intercoolers and clutch)

Hybrid 130 will get 220bhp+ hybrid 150 will get 230bhp+... pd150 will fit but if u get it from a golf/ leon/ bora it will need "clocking" (twisting round so it faces the right way for the pipework) easy 2minute job..

Oops posted at same time^^

WoW lol, well I ask as my car is on 124k and not sure if it's ever been changed. But still strong and going

No need for clutch. I'm on 201bhp and have been for well over a year and I throw abuse at my clutch and I've only just had it changed cause I was getting the dual mass changed. The clutch held up fine. I floored it in 6th at low speeds all the time.

The vrs standard clutch is a pretty good clutch, Ive been running 336lb for a year and its not missed a beat, but it might just be luck of the draw, but its been wound down a little now.

According to your signature your running 273lb/ft torque, which i believe is under the max the standard is rated for which is why you've been ok with it? I think the standard clutch is rated to 300lb/ft?

youll just need to rotate the compressor housing so its at the same angle as the fabia one.
