Front Strut Brace

Featured Replies

Anyone got any thoughts as to the value of a front strut brace by Forge. I have the suspension/braking all done, bushes, springs, rear roll bar etc. I am also looking to take the car from about 170 to 210 bhp. Please give me an idea of what you think I defo need and if you can an idea of costs.

Stevie

I have an OMP front upper and lower strut braces and also a rear strut brace along with all the usual suspension, poly bush, big brakes,LSD type mods and highly recommend strut braces as the will keep the car more rigid giving better cornering performance and generally making for a less wobbly car. A full roll cage is a even better way to make a more rigid car.

Lower strut brace on a Fabia? Off the shelf or a custom made one??

Edited by DanHam

Omp lower strut brace off the shelf. For asz 130 engine.

Mr Rooney, do you have to remove the undertray for it to fit? As I don't really want to remove mine.

It will fit under the tray but I had to cut some of the plastic sound proofing blocks away . I no longer use an under tray as it fell off going around shell oils corner at park lol! Make no difference to mpg top speed ect so don't miss it plus maintanace is sooo much easier.

Any links for lower strut brace? Can you tell much of a difference? I had a lower strut brace on the front of my old car off a mk1 golf and you could really feel a noticable improvement.

As above?

I had one on a mk5 Fiesta and it made a hell of a difference! I've got coilies on my VRS and when I'm pushing on I still feel that it's a bit 'loose'.

I need strut braces and ARB!

Yes that's it!

The biggest improvement for me came from the upper strut brace. The car felt so much tighter and go kart like. Fitted the rear forge and lower omp braces and felt another improvement but not as big as the first fitment.

Sounds good thanks mate! My car needs something - just feels so 'floppy' when trying to corner hard - haven't got the balls to corner hard in this like I used to in my old Fiesta!

Also have SEAT Sport front upper brace and Jabba RARB, fully poly bushed and Spax RSX coil overs. Pretty tight you could say.

This is a pic of my lower front strut brace being worked hard! I don't run a lower plastic engine tray as you can see and don't miss it.

What's your brace as it seems higher mounted then the omp one?

We have the Forge front strut brace on special at the moment in our eBay store - http://cgi.ebay.co.u...me=STRK:MESE:IT

Brilliant price!

Some one mentioned the asz engine? I'm sure it fits the Blt too?

Damian shame the rear strut braces aren't also on offer, I'd have one in a flash lol.

I sold it to him. I have no idea of the make as i cant remember but it didnt fit the vrs as the engine dogbone mount was in the way.

EDIT^^ Yeah it was a weicher!
