Featured Replies

Can someone please let me know what oil i should use for my Octavia VRS 2002 as im running a full oil change tomorrow, Iv been told i can use semi synthetic and not full synthetic, also can i please get

some advise on what i should get Ie 5w/30

your help would be appreciated

Drew

i run mine on 5/30 fully synthetic

make sure it is a VW 504/507 approved oil, thats all you really need to worry about

Any 5W/30 as long as it is C3 is ok, ASDA do 5 litres for £20.

Castrol edge 5w/30 currently 8 litres (2 x 4 litre bottles) for £35 at Costco

I always use Castrol Edge 5w/30 fully synthetic (4.5 Litres including filter)

Just go to skoda full oil service kit for under 30 quid, why mess about paying more lol

Sent from my Galaxy S2 not a Crapple!

Castrol edge5w 30 fully syn gets my vote too ;)

Quantum platinum 5w40 for fixed service or quantum longlife 5w30 for variable get mine.

Cheap and oem.

Comes in 5l bottles too unlike castrol stupid money maker 4l.

Quantum platignum is very good oil. Made a huge difference imo

Longlife III for my VRS, although next time i'll get the Platinum as its a good deal cheaper and just as good for the age of car/mileage. Saying that, its not used a drop of the 5w30 and is very quiet too.

sound thank you for your help.

I got some 5/30 from euro parts, was a good price to

I've just asked my Skoda dealer in Swansea.

Their response was "The oil filter is £7 and the oil £43, both prices are inclusive of VAT,"

Your dealer is ripping you off big time lol. Try VW or seat dealers near you.

Will do thanks. The VW dealer is the same garage, just in a different location, actually much nearer to me.
