Yeah probably will go with them in the future just wondering what people have.

i have a tarox 323mm 6 pot kit on my car. they are REALLY good! put it this way, when i get out of my escort and into the octy i headbutt the windscreen at t junctions....and they were only £1000 when i got them at the awesome summer bash last year,a hefty £200 off.

Only a £1000!!!! Lol I would love some like that but I don't have that sort of budget.

360mm two piece disc up front with AP Racing 6 pots.

330mm two piece disc on rears with modified OEM callipers.

DS2500 Ferodo pads and braided hoses all round. Castrol SRF super dot 4 fluid.

As for price, for all of the above not much change from £2,500....

Don't forget updated hoses, pads and good fluid make a massive difference too!

still need wheel spacers though clive

oh bugger yes but only small ones lol

I have a phobia of spacers lol

I need a brake conversion that fits under spiders! I can get my standards fading to the point of having no brakes if I push hard picking up a pizza lol

I keep looking at brake upgrades and I think a good option is the Porsche 996.351.421/422 calipers with creation Motorsport carriers total cost for them two is around £300(maybe a bit more). You can normally find a set of calipers with pads in already and if they are good enough for a porsche they will be for the Octavia, or they will put you on for a bit. Brake lines will be about £30-£45 I think but don't quote me on that. So I reckon for £350ish you can have a good set of 4 pot brembos that will stop you no problem.

Well thats what I'm going to go for anyway. Hope this is of a little help to you.

I have a phobia of spacers lol

you need to get over it ;)

Clive can supply Creations Motor 8mm hubcentrics, which are well made & priced (£30ish iirc)

The LCR/Brembo GT setups can be nice and cheap to run too

You can buy mintex/pagid LCR brake kits (323 discs + pads and 256 discs + pads) from ebuy for circa £200

They are well suited to urban driving

I know!! I suppose I should get some spacers and try them out whilst saving for the brakes, I got over the fear of single sided swing arms on bikes when I actually bought one lol I'm seeing Clive soon so maybe he can sort me some out

shame you havent got 18's im selling some r32 stoppers

  • Author

Yeah doubt I would ever put 18's on mine.

I wont ever be using spacers again unless I sort probs out withstud conversion, Ive had TPI and creation ones ane both are crap and make the car twitchy and wobble like hell over 60mph on both the octavia and my fabia.

I have a pair of 8mm eibach spacers too but they wont fit right with the std bolts so might try them when I get the stud conversion on the octy. Ill be trying the 5mm spacers too and if no luck Ill be selling them as so far they are ****E!

I just got some LCR ronals so I can use the LCR brembos, they are awesome brakes!!!!!!

100x better than std 312mm and more than enough for the Octavia for road and ocasional track use id say.

HOW THE HELL DO YOU FADE BRAKES GETTING A PIZZA?

you must drive like a total arse? or you have proper cheap discs n pads? even the £15 front pads from ECP I have in the 312s on my fabia dont fade on me that easy. only had it once with them and I was burning them on purpose at 3am after work. no speeding tho........

I've got black diamond pads in the front no idea what the discs are! I probably drive like a arse but I do live in the country with no build up areas! Billy why don't you lend me your spacers and I will see if I like them?

... spacers ... are crap and make the car twitchy and wobble like hell ...

you're not fitting them inside-out ? ;)

I get no wobble, but I did alot of geometry tweaking after fitting to get handling right - mainly fine-tuning camber to suit wider front track

Marks 323's fit under the his spiders with room to spare and no spacers as we discussed this at combe a few weeks ago.

Is that the 6 pots?

Yes mate. They look awesome. I was very surprised they fitted under spiders to be honest. But the do with a few mm to spare.

Well the way I'm seeing it it will cost me around the same price to buy a bbk or wheels that fit over brembos with no spacers aswell as the brembos so a big bbk maybe the way to go!! Won't be yet as I'm skint lol

Years ago I got 335mm x 32mm discs with AP 6 pots behind my old spiders, that is about the limit with 17" rims though. No spacers either, just good offsets!!!
