That's why I bought it when I did. I've wanted one of these for years and figured that if I don't get one now, I'll probably never get one. Now that I have it, I can't imagine life without it. The car

1999 Reg Skoda Fun pickup. 50k Miles. No rust or welding. Original bed and paint :)

Bought mine about 6 months ago with a knackered engine and repairs needed. Just sourced a 2.0ltr VW GTI engine, box and front suspension, and brakes to be fitted soon. V reg. Thinking of doing a full mod job on it but keep it yellow. All interior is standard Fun no tow bar but has a great truckman top.

Hi,

just rescued a 1999 Fun. One family owned since new, had over £3000 spent in 2009 on new engine and other bits. Has been sat at mercy to cornish weather the last 3 years and is in much needed TLC... Had great fun towing it back from my friends with his tractor. =-)

So as i'm a sucker, having driven a few back when I used to work at a skoda dealer, and i've always had a soft spot for the fun i have taken the plunge!

Any advice on parts, resto tales etc would be greatly appreciated from you guys..

Cheers

Keith

Hi I'm a Fun n00b too.

Those wheels really suit it. Somehow they seem to make it less 'yellow', even though there is more yellow. Maybe it's just the stance and attitude offsetting the flying banana vibe? Tops are hard to find, as I have found. There is a breakers in eastern Europe with one for sale. Other than that this wreck has a top and 'allegedly' 12,000mi and the guy dropped the price to £350 as soon as I asked just about the hood. The arches are completely gone and it'll need trailering away and some serious welding.  I was gonna buy it, strip it for spares (could do with bumpers and a steering wheel) and sellable parts then scrap it from where it stood. I don't have the time now and the only scrappy I tried doesn't have a service partner in Powys Wales...

Bought my Fun on Sunday.

X817 HLL, 2000, 65,500mi Scruffy but solid, has had rear arches rebuilt by a welder/mechanic & 'triple' undercoated. Came with a TruckMan top but no rear glass. Currently using some ply and iron-mongery from Wickes to keep the rain and scumbags out. Bought from Datchford and previously owned by 'Auto Body Centre - Accident Repair Specialists' as the paint fading on the bonnet testifies.

I'm about to export it Guernsey, with myself, my stuff and my cat, and re-register it there. It'll have a proper number plate, with just numbers and be the far more bad-ass looking silver on black that aren't allowed in the UK. New reg will be posted when assigned.

Current mods: 16" Schmidt 1pc wheels, LO 45mm lowering springs and custom dual exit exhaust system.

Will sort some pics later, but just got a 99 (T plate). Lowered onto Audi alloys, re-sprayed red. Rear turrets have been fixed, and underside cleaned and treated, and interior, well in a word, de-yellowed. The owner I purchased from has had it 10 months, with the work being done by the owner before him. That owner had clearly looked after and cherished it, so it wouldn't surprise me if someone recognises it on here.

My new Fun truck

Had my Fun for 3 weeks, been a workhorse, so now for some TLC, getting the mechanicals sorted at the mo, the bodywork over winter, interior in spring, looking to keep it standardish,

1999, 93k, truckman, towbar, not a lot of rust, looks fantastic in the dark

Hi ya t reg 79000 miles on the clock lowered 17" alloys needs a passenger

seat as the one in it has been welded so won't tilt forward.anyone know if the Felicia two door has the passenger seat set up IMG_0533.thumb.JPG.6ef40a115a34e9e79c6460987220fc5b.JPGpost-116447-0-30272000-1408572121_thumb.jpg

Hi all this is my Felicia Fun

I've own the car for just  under two years now !  Its been a Love / Hate thing.

The car has done 81000 miles but unknown to me had its faults . The main fault was the last owner told me the head gasket had been done ! YES the head gasket had  but was only to last 3 weeks before signs more to come . Anyway I was looking to rebuild the engine which I've built many in the past so no problem so started to price it up as you do . When next fault shows it ugly head the 5th gear whining  well ok add that to the list . So as you do starting looking up parts on ebay now looking at second hand engines and box's  prices seemed to be very high for engine over £500 with 100.000 on the clock .

So next was the dona car which came as estate felicia which only had been used by an old man to go to the shops and bump into things on the way so had new parts like wing headlights but all done at a main dealers .The good thing the car only done 32'000 miles so nicely run in .

I bought the dona for the grand sum of £150'  Yep what a deal made my happy only down side had to pay transport to get it home .

But needs be as they say so over the last year or so a easy been transplant engine/box with a full new clutch always a good idea to do when its out don't cost much and you know its done .

At the moment I've been doing the fibre glass repairs to the bumpers  !

I still some bits to finish like leather sun visors and the lockable black bins in the rear bed only need one but for the love of it I can't remember which side.

79000 miles lowered 17 inch wheels originally from a dealer on the

Isle of Wight loving it

I've got two Fun trucks and would never sell either, one with 47K and another with 90K. The design is unique and very well considered, if they'd made a diesel variant in silver I reckon there would be millions around. My lower mileage model is tucked away in the garage and the other is off the road too, primarily as a rolling spares bin, but I might get an MOT on it this spring/summer (Y).
