Connection change for new front speakers

Featured Replies

Hey fowks, front left speaker was blown, so got new speakers - fli iv. I have no idea how to change the connection from the old speaker the new ones. There are two clicks in the old, and one 1+ and 1- on the new.

How to go about with 4 cables into this (2 cables for each connection) to alter into the new - and it to work!!

Any help or points be greatly received.

Cheers cheers

  • 2 weeks later...

the 2 connector sockets are for:

one does the main speaker in bottom of door,

the other links to the tweeters at the top of the door . . ( or so i believe)

I fitted Fli speakers to the front and rear of my Ocy, and you don't really need the tweeters in, the sound is just as good and sounds exactly like the tweeters were plugged in if you EQ it correctly.

if you did want the tweeters to work, just chop off the connector block and wire it into that speaker, though TBH you don;t really need it.

I found that the sound balance was all wierd with all 8 speakers going, so only have 2 fronts in door, and 2 rears in boot (all Fli) running off a 5 channel amp . .. plus sub in boot. . NICE!

would be happy to provide more info if you need it :)

Rob.
