Newbie

Featured Replies

As it says im a Newbie but not to Skodas just to Superbs.

I have had 4 Octavia company cars in the past 8 years and driven around 340,000 miles in them. As my company car budget changed and meant I could not have another 1.8Tsi Octavia i thought I would give the Superb a try.

I picked up my 1.6 Greenline SE twindoor up on Satuday and apart from the lack of power ( the Octavia had 160 bhp) I'm used to I am quite impreesed with it.

I have done just over 700 miles in it so far and it has given me an average of 54 mpg which is good for me as I dont hang about and it is still new so should get better.

Anyway no doubt I will keep everyone updated on the cars issues if it should have any as I will have the car for around 2 years and will knock up 100,000 miles in that time, I just hope it performs as well as the Octavias have done.

I'm waiting for that same car. I'm hoping it should be here by next weekend (if all goes well) as it was on the boat to the UK last weekend. I'm really looking forward to trading in my Vrs and picking up my Greenline SE. With you doing a lot more miles than me I may get an idea of any issues that may be heading my way. Then again, it could be an Absolutly perfect car.

No problems up to now but ive only had it for 5 days but I must say has lived up to my expectaions.

I could do with more power but it is ok,

Ive done around 1100 miles so far with an average on the computer of 52 mpg and its cheaper on my pocket due to lower company car tax.

The only issues is the colour its white. I could not get metalic paint on my budget so it was dark blue or white and the dark blue will look very dirty very quickly.

I think they should add a red to the solid colours as that would be a better choice.

I think you would find that a `solid` red would dull relatively quickly.

Mines a Petrol blue twindoor. Not seen too many of them but it does look a nice colour on the estate.

Not in the 2 years I would be running it. I ran a red BMW 2 years ago in solid red and it was fine,

And there are plenty of solid red Octavias around that look good.

Mine looks great in white at the moment and the dark blue is a nice colour.

The problem with dark colours is that even in the dry summer the look dirty due to all the dust blowing around.

In the winter I can wash thr car and withing 1 day it looks like it hasnt been wased in a month.

The grime on the roads is awful especially when its wet on the motorways.

Remember I do around 1000 a week. ( only got the car last Saturday and its got 1350 miles on it)

And that dirt wouldn't make a white car look dirty? I suppose it may make it look like the cappuchino version pretty quick!

I was really pleased with my Greenline Twindoor (Greenline 1, so 1.9 TDI) and was sorry to see it go, but we just didn't need the space any more.

Happy mile crunching!
