new greenline few questions & observations

Featured Replies

I have just taken delivery of a new fabia combi greenline in France, where I live.

Thought it strange for an Eco car that the daytime running lights are not LED.

Also the tyres - Dunlop Sport don't seem to be of the energy saving type.

I had the car factory prepared for fitting a tow bar, but all they seem to have done is put a bumber on with a removable section for the towing ball.

The radio does not have bluetooth, despite being the 'swing' model. (I only got it beause I wanted Auto Climate Control), but it would have been much more useful than a CD player.

Build quality seems good though and the accessories are a fair price (even cheap).

Swing doesn't have bluetooth built in - but it can be added for a much smaller cost than the factory option.

What is behind the removable section - is there a removable ball in the boot?

Not all manufactures use DRL LED's

And evan brands that do seem to reserve LED DRLs for Higher spec cars.

If DRLs arent the LED sort then they will a 21W bulb much like what you expect to see in your tail lamps

Do any Fabias have LED DRLs? Mine (2012 Monte Carlo) are "normal" bulbs. I'd be interested in retro-fitting Bluetooth (jealous of my wife's Golf) and changing bulbs for LEDs (I looked at bulb kits etc). Anyone have prices/hints/updates?

No there is no removable ball in the boot - I thought that is all I would need to buy, but the garage quoted me circa 500 pounds to fit a towbar.

So I have decided to leave it for now and rent a van as and when I need one.
