Changed my plugs, just a a precaution..

Featured Replies

My car is well known for being one of the few not to have broken down, and to have no misfire issues, and no oil usage..

next week I'm going on the brisky prague trip , a few thousand miles accross europe, high speeds on the autobahns, and an airfield day, and the nurburgrin for 2 days...

soooooo, because I'm up to 34k, and on the original plugs, that are due to be replaced on the 40k service anyway, i contacted the skoda garage, to see if I could supply my own plugs and get them changed before the trip :) just as a precaution seeing as it will be hammered, and they said fine, it will be left off the 40k service if I do them now... I supplied them with some NGK BKR8EIX iriduim plugs to go in, and they fitted them,

(Great service as always, thanks to border cars, skoda, lillyhall)

these were my old plugs... not a great picture, but they all looked fine, it was a bit dark .. they were all the same colour, the one on the end wasnt black! lol..

ahh, oh dear :( simple part replacement though, could be worse! while I was in there there was a vrs owner came in complaining of oil consuption issues... I beleive they now have a bulliten about the oil brether "fix" in... I was only half listening though...

That's good to see. When Wap changed my car to Australian there was a fault code for a misfire at around 4000km which would have been right in the middle of winter when we did have one or two really icy days. I never felt it or had any dash lights at the time. Never had missing as such and it's run fine
