I'm just about to order a vRS and I'm starting to think about what I can do to make it a little more 'surprising' ;)

I have a certain amount to spend but not a lot of spare time so would ideally like to get things done in as few visits as possible. I 'm ready to spend up to

Erm, still trying to work out where that scores on the 'sensible' suggestions scale... :D

its the best bang for buck so very sensible ;) best performance and it would be very unusual

Please feel free to ignore anything I say, me not coming from the performace diesel side of things:

Do first -

Cupra inake would also be beneficial when re-map ime comes around

Start with coilovers. The handling is utter crap on vRS's. Get a strut brace if you feel the need. Then scrap the tyres that come on the car and get some Pirelli p zero, then add some porsche brakes, then get a turbo back exhaust, uprated I/c panel filter and a custom remap.

That should pretty much spend your cash !

heres my choice.. in order.

Coilovers + strutbrace

Brakes.... 312 conversion (cheap & capable) - brembos (

Then keep it for a while because it will still be worth exactly the same as a standard car when you sell it.

T5, i thought you quite liked the handling when you first got it

Whoops forgot suspension, add that in to the do first category  My bad ;)

:D

Tis true, the handling feels taught and responsive, but as you get confident you realise how quickly it gets flustered and starts pitching and rolling and the tyres screech like mad at te lowest of speeds. I hope that helps Goodas.

Thats cool. I do think the Vrs rewards smooth driving and the suspension can get flustered like you said if you push too hard.

Anyway back to the thread...if you are doing all those engine mods you need the suspension to go with it :)

Thanks very much

Exactly the sort of info I was looking for.

I still have a bit of homework to do on the intake/filter and FMIC to fully understand the gains but suspect i can find out what i need on the forum.

My other question would be where I could get most of this done as a one-stop shop. Firstly, I don't have much time and secondly, I reckon I would have more room for negotiation if I was getting more done. I live in West London so really need somewhere in the South East or thereabouts.

Once again, suggestions are appreciated.

Cheers

James

PS if you're not too bored of questions, what sort of discount should I be looking for from a main dealer (bearing in mind the car will be pretty much fully loaded)?

I'm looking at trying to some of the above with around 2K.... not sure how much of it will be able to be done. Mainly I'm looking at the FMIC and big turbo/injectors, but along with those have to consider the things that make me stop with all that extra speed (big brakes) and keeping it all going - uprated clutch.
