can anyone help me i was just wondering if i can put a 6 speed octivia gear box from a newer model in my 04 vrs and waht parts would i need to change if any.

all you need if you want 6sp is to get a 6sp box and driveshafts from a seat leon cupra (02,03 reg) or cupra R (upto 55 reg). thats all i bought and mine works a treat!!!

Pointless the 5 speed box is a gem!

Long lazy ratios! 3rd for example pulls from 30mph all the way to 110mph!

A 6 speed box just means more gear changes

6th gear ratio is same as 5 th in 5 speed box, as Jase says just more gear changes.

I think the reason they use a 6 speed box is its better suited to the laggier ko4 turbo
