Never mind black, arrggghhhh silver cars!

Featured Replies

I know I was ranting about keeping black cars clean, but I've just spent 2hrs on my gf's Astra and it looks no different!! :-(

Also every time I clean it I notice the build quality difference between my octavia and her Astra, and condition.

it's shocking considering her car has only 8,000 miles on and mine had close to 120k

Black, pig to keep clean but looks ace when it is.

Silver always looks mediocre, i.e. not clean or dirty, but an absolute NIGHTMARE to touch the stone chips up.

The bonnet on my van looks like it's got the measels. Wish I hadn't bothered tbh. Dreadful mess.

Silver.......BOF's colour :giggle:

Clean, dirty, polished or otherwise, my silver Schitroen always looked cr@p

I'm ashamed to say that since buying the FRV way back in June/July, I've only washed it three times.

On the plus side, you can't tell. After six and a half years of owning a black vRS, it's quite liberating! Not only that, but it must save me a fortune in water too.

My silver octy was ace never washed it once and i swear it never looked any dirtier than the day i drove it off the forecourt

Have never had a silver car but i have always thought about it as i imagined it is great for hiding paint blemishes i.e swirls etc.

I am now on my first white car. I thought this might offer similar abilities i.e disguising somewhat the small scratches and swirls that tend to occur over the years. Time will tell.

What i never expected was how obvious the fly kills now are. Arggggghhhhh.

What you need is a mottled brown colour painted in a swirly fashion. Sorted.
