bad power band

Featured Replies

I'm just liking having the car back to be honest dude.. I'll get the dyno up when I can. Shame I couldn't get a comparison to the Revo but was just to unstable and the graph was all over the place. I'm not overly worried about figures at this point as this map is more to get the car on the road and not kill spark plugs within 50 miles but it does feel really good. No hesitation in the mid range any more which has been helped by the bkr9s and okada packs along with a sensible afr. Top end feels better. Like it pulls all the way up to the redline instead of dropping of around 5500rpm like the Revo. Very happy. Only downside is I didn't go to them first but atleast now they know the car and hhave a good idea where to take this project next.

You need to update your signature!!

here is the new one.

EG correction equals din correction +2ps or SAE 3~4ps.

buttom line is wheel HP.

still a huge diff , compared to the 151wheel HP from the Maha dyno ...

so 184 whp with 328 NM

the motorsport guy told me to top pend looks a bit restriked like they do it on some ralley cars when they have to reduce power.

will investigate IC, Intake , might be some dirt or oil slick

So that's only 240 lb/ft? That's not very good for the mods u have

  • 3 weeks later...

Tomorrow will be my second RR to compare results from my first graph since going stage 2, I visited Awesome GTI, Irlam at the beginning of last month, tomorrow I will be visiting TDI North, Warrington.

Same car, same mods, the only difference is I have changed the oil since being on Awesome's rollers, lets see what these rollers come up with!

I will post the figures once I return home. :)

wich dyno are they using ?

Havernt a clue what rollers they use, I will be receiving the print out via email next week, the figures were 233bhp and roughly 255/260 ftlb from memory.

Just a quick question..the two rolling roads I have been on have both struggled to provide decent figures and curves with it being 'too sensitive' and 'having kickdown', it takes them atleast 5-10 runs to get a selection and rough idea of the bhp and torque, do anyone elses RR have this problem with people's cars?

Nope, it's really simple imo to hit full throttle without triggering kickdown. Usually, it's because off sbtw... Or in this case : sbtp!

I find it easy enough to do too but they can't seem to manage it..what does sbtw & sbtp mean?

**** behind the wheel / pedals ;-).

ahhh I see haha yeah suppose it does, we drive the cars daily I suppose but if they don't have the experience with dsg they shouldn't charge you full price tbh

Look forward to the results TDI are well respected tuners with jap cars an rollers seemed consistent when I had my civic

my tuner had a plastik cap wich goes behind the pedal, so you cant hit the kick down acidently

OH BTW . Whats The whp Figure for The Last run and Drag Loose

I still havernt been in touch, I will email them today and wait for a reply.

You should have switched the map back to stock for a run to compare. obviously with the exhaust/intake and intercooler it will outperform a stock car, but we'd be able to see the difference the mapping makes.

I would need the switchable cruise stalk to be able to see stock figures wouldn't I?

ah, i presumed you had cruise

Norrr not yet.. Something I would like but money is being put away for Christmas and presents for others instead of gifts for myself lol :)

Thats an awesome power curve. Id be chuffed to bits with that. Loads of area under the curves and no spikes of peaks.

I was very happy with this run, torque curve waves abit between 3 & 4.5 rpm lol
